I use it to check to see my shot is in focus and it works great.

This viewer enables me to take a closeup look at the photo I just took even in bright sunlight when I ordinarily would not be able to see the LCD screen on my camera very well.

When I'm out shooting in daylight, sometimes it's hard to see the photo you just took on the viewfinder. Using this loupe makes it easy to get a good look at your pictures because it blocks out the light.

I've used these loupes throughout my career -- indispensable in a film world. Lately, though, I got another one for viewing details of camera LCD screens. This Peak 4x loupe comes with 2 skirts, one clear (default) and a black skirt. The black skirt is more useful in a digital world because it kills extraneous light while you view the LCD. In sunlight that's a huge help. 4x is enough to get an information-filled view without magnifying so much you get only dots.

Equal to the finest 4X achromatic loupes anywhere. The square 2x2" base takes full advantage of the viewing field. A handy clip-on neck string makes this an ideal magnifier for focusing large format cameras or editing. it comes with interchangeable opaque or transparent skirts for optimum viewing in all conditions.
