I became familiar with Pelican products when previously acquiring waterproof rafting cases back in the 1980's. I'm so happy to say say that, as far as this carry-on case is concerned, it is obvious that Pelican maintains an exceptionally high standard of case design and construction. I only wish I had this case with me as I traveled through Europe for six weeks a couple of years ago. This case is solidly built, an abundance of padding that can be arranged to any preference. The built in handle, wheels and exterior hard plastic construction exhibits the highest standard of function and durability. As advertised, the case did accommodate my 17 inch MacBook Pro, it fit easily into the overhead compartment. I've never been more satisfied with a piece of gear!

I bought this about 2 years ago and have taken it on several trips by air. It is big enough to carry my SLR, 3 extra lens, binocculars, flash etc and the laptop bag comes off with its own strap (which I replaced). The bag fits into the overhead storage with the wheels to the back and the handle straight out. Because you don't have to place it horizontally it takes up much less space. The laptop will hold 17'PC comfortably and the two pockets are large enough for a couple of books and my Bose headset and fits easily under the seat in front of you. Great bag.

A friend of mine had this bag so I was able to inspect it before deciding. It has a removable laptop section, so you can travel lighter if you want. Lots of pockets and padding and the inside pockets are adjustable. Very happy with this bag. If you need even more space, try the larger Pelican bag. This is just the right size for me. Easy to roll and keep all of my gear together.
