Just what I needed
I am actually using this for a telescope and need bot the male & female sides; Works great on both ends

It works, but...
This 82mm aluminum lens cap fits and does the job. However, the cap pictured (with silver edges and center circle) is not the design I received. The one I got is all black, and therefore doesn't match the several others that I have. Small issue, granted, but irritating nonetheless. Also, you'll note that there are two pieces, the cap and a female-threaded rear cap, i.e. this is actually a filter "stack-cap" set made to cap front-and-rear a number of screwed-together filters for storage. Just sayin'.

Have had too many lens caps fall off, especially when they get older. These screw in and provide added security.
