Needed this for taking shots using Nikon D80 with power grip using 18-135 mm lens. Problem is the fact that any adjustment in height is a daunting task when untwisting the knobs. The entire monopod untwists in the process! Better if the monopod had a click tightener mechanism.

Adds that little extra stability when you have a bad shoulder.

Good, solid portable monopod that feels very sturdy yet lightweight. I'd definitely recommend it for all monopod uses.

Finally! A monopod that has the strength and construction at a price point anyone can afford. The REDGED RMA 432 is the monopod I've been dreaming of ever since SLIK discontinued a similar one years ago. Solidly built using round aircraft aluminum, (not U-channel),it stabilizes a professional-size camera with ease. As mentioned, the REDGED RMA 432 uses heavy-duty ROUND aluminum for the leg sections. What this does is it takes the flexing out that you almost always get with U-channel monopods. This coupled with rubberized Twist-lock locking rings instead of flip locks on the sections gives a photographer or videographer non-slip height adjustment for even the tallest user. Another nice feature is the retractable rubber foot which reveals a ground spike for outdoor use. This is always handy for the outdoor user when using in the rain or there is dew on the ground. Plus, it makes a good walking stick when the camera is not attached. Speaking of using as a walking stick, the REDGED RMA 432 has a nice foam grip on the upper tube section along with a wrist strap. You don't have to grab a cold piece of metal in the winter. Last, but not least, it comes with a black nylon carry sack for storage. Not thrilled about this but its' there. The only downside to this otherwise great piece of equipment is the plastic reversable mounting plate. I would rather see a machined aluminum plate and would gladly pay a few dollars more for such. Or, ditch the carry sack and the wrist strap to include it at the same price point. All in all, I am very pleased with the REDGED RMA 432. So much so, I bought two.

The Redged RMA-432 4-Section Aluminum Monopod is a tall, strong monopod for shooting situations that require a lower-profile or lighter camera support than a tripod would afford. The RMA-432 reaches a generous maximum height of 66.9", making it a comfortable eye-level support for almost all users - and with a load capacity of 33.1 lb, it's a robust support for almost any camera configuration.
The RMA-432 features twist-lock leg stages and a foam grip on the upper section for secure, comfortable operation even in extreme temperatures. A hand strap serves as a line of defense against equipment drops. The monopod has a reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw, so you can mount any head or camera directly.
