Great ballhead for APS-C cameras with moderate lenses. Adjustable ballhead friction works well and very smoothly. ARCA plate has a slot for attaching camera straps - nice!

This ball head is solid! I'm using a DSLR with a 150-600mm lens mounted on it. Tighten it up, and even with this big lens, this ballhead does not move, or "settle". Very secure. I love the Arca-Swiss style mount! Much better than a drop in plate. I did order a longer mounting plate (Wimberly) for the big lens. I'll use the plate that came with the ballhead when using a shorter lens, or with my emoumt camera. Though I've only had the ballhead a couple weeks, so far I'm very happy with it.

I had to replace another ball head that came with a lightweight tripod that I use hiking in the field. I needed one that is lightweight and will not fall apart in a few months. After looking at all the ones in similar weight and weight handling capability. I finally settled on the Sirui. The price was spot on, not suspiciously low or the cost of a compact car. When it arrived I found it well made and as light as the fragile one it replaced. No I will not put my 600mm lens on it, but it works well with mid range zooms. Holds a Nikon 70-200 or 200mm Micro securely. To completely lock the head you need to crank the knob, but it is not really necessary, the head does not creep So if you need a lightweight head for a lightweight tripod, this is an excellent choice. Kind of the "Goldilocks" head not too heavy not too expensive, it is just right.

I put this together with Sirui T-1005X legs. The whole thING weighs less than 3 pounds and collapses to less than 13". The only negative comment I have is that the tolerances on the 1/4-20 camera screw (with the flip out tab to tighten) does not allow you to turn the screw tight. The flip out tab underneath runs into the plate when turning. You can't firmly tighten it. A little filing will fit he problem, but a user shouldn't have to "fix" design problems.

I bought a Sirui K-10X to go with an Induro CLT-104, on which it fits but doesn't span the entire base diameter. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it does look a bit small for the tripod and is probably better paired with the smaller Induro CLT-004 (the larger K-20X probably would've gone better with the tripod). In any case, the K-10X supports my Nikon D7000 with a Nikon 16-85 easily and doesn't exhibit any rotational or creep issues. However, the ballhead's detent pin doesn't work properly with the Kirk BL-D7000 L-bracket that's installed on my D7000 so it ends up being useless at helping to hold the camera in place. With the exception of the detent pin issue (at least with my L-bracket), the K-10X is a very nice ballhead that's less than half of the price of the nearly-equivalent Markins Q3T that I had before and has effectively the same high build quality.

I bought this to go on a Gitzo tripod to use for field macro photography. It's light weight and very well made and functional. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
