Features of Adapter Overstated

I purchased this adapter to use with the Sonnet Thunderbolt adapter system. My intention was to plug my Nikon D800 directly to my Mac via USB 3.0 for fast downloads. I also have a non-Sonnet, non-Lexar USB 3.0 CF/SD card reader and intended to use that as well. I opened the Sonnet packaging and the included instructions stated, "The Mac OS Driver for this card supports USB 3.0 hard drives, Sonnet Dio Pro Media Reader, and Lexar's USB 3.0 Compact Flash/SD reader, but not other non-storage USB devices or hubs." Also the adapter does not support any USB 2.0 devices, not a big deal but of note and contrary to what is stated on Sonnet's website. I also have a USB 3.0 External Dual HD docking station arriving in the next few days. I'm not sure if the adapter will support it or not. So far the adapter is a bomb. It does nothing I expected it to do and there was no reference to these limitation anywhere on the Sonnet website or any website I researched before purchase. If the adapter works with the HD docking station I will increase to 2 or 3 stars, otherwise 1 star for utter failure to deliver.
