This media is unreliable. You might get 8 dvd's out of a 50 pack that are writeable the rest are garbage. I recently bought a 50 pack from best buy and now i have around 40 coasters. WAY TO FAIL SONY! BTW I made an account just to warn people.

Out of a 25 pack, I have been able to use only 3. These things are too expensive to be non-useable. I'll never buy another Sony item!!

Sony used to be my choice for all electronics. I've noticed the company slipping into obscurity over the last few years. Thank you for reminding me why I don't buy your products anymore.

I purchased a container of 100 discs at Costco in the summer of 2009 and started using them in December 2009. I am absolutely shocked at the poor quality. On insertion in my Panasonic DVD recorder, the discs show up normally and seem to be recording properly. Upon completion, the time used in the recording is gone from the remaining available time but, when I try to watch my recording, it says" nothing has been recorded." Fortunately I had blank space on old TDK disks and they recorded perfectly so it is not a problem with the recorder. Curiously, there is nothing to identify the discs as a SONY product. In my mind, SONY has always been synonymous with high quality. I am extremely disappointed that SONY would sell this junk and will now be much more cautious when evaluating possible purchase of SONY products.

I wish I could give this product zero stars. I purchased two 25 disc spindles of these DVD-Rs to back up some personal videos. Disc after disc kept failing on my MacBook. I finally went through 50 discs without completing my project. I opened a spindle of Memorex discs to finish my project and so far I've had 100% success rate with them. I chose Sony over other brands because of Sony's reputation. I am so disappointed in this product that I felt a need to register and submit a review of this product. I've never had such a failure rate with CDs or DVDs. I've had better luck using the cheap PNY brand discs. Please save your time and money and purchase a different brand.
