The Sony VPLEX225 2700 Lumens XGA Portable Projector has a native XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and a brightness of 2700 lumens. The projector features a 1.3x flexible standard zoom lens. It has a world-ready 100 to 240 V 50/60Hz power supply and it can handle NTSC, NTSC 4.43 and SECAM video signals.

Sony's proprietary BrightEra 3LCD panels are made with inorganic materials, instead of organic materials, which makes it highly resilient and will prevent yellowing or decaying of the projector's image output over time. The Sony projector has a projected lamp life of 7000 hours in economy mode, which is synchronized with the long-lasting filter so that both are replaced at the same time.

The beamer includes several eco mode options which use less energy. Lastly, the VPL-EX225 proves wireless ready with the optional USB wireless module (IPN-WLN3).
