Bought one of these when my mid-2012 MacBook Pro was new and loved it. The MacBook Pro is still kicking, but I switched to another, cheaper case to update the color. Big mistake; it immediately chipped and broke, on top of never clipping onto the bottom half of the laptop correctly. Checked Speck again on a whim and was delighted to find they still make these. Fits perfectly and looks great.

I've owned several Black MacBook Pros covers and was disappointed that the clear one is not soft plastic. Soft Plastic definitely protects the computer better.

It covers the computer and stays on, but bits and pieces chip off the corners very easily. The side-bottom vents snap easily, too. My previous speck case for my laptop lasted a couple years before I had to replace it- this one's lasted about 3 months and I'm already considering replacing it.

I bought this to replace my broken case from a different company. I've always loved Speck's phone cases. This case feels like it barely fits my Macbook Pro 15" Retina. It didn't give that "click-in" sound that I've been used too. one side of the top also looks a bit lopsided. Seems to be a manufacturing flaw as the case has no more room to clamp down. I wouldn't purchase this again, but I'll keep it for now and see how things go.

My old Speck MacBook Pro case developed a crack in the bottom caused by the bulge of the battery. I didn't even realize it until I was taking my MacBook Pro into the Apple store for another reason. The tech said to me, "You also need a new battery". Fortunately I have AppleCare so everything was covered (except the Speck Case). I have since ordered and received a new Speck Case and I love it. I especially love the feel when picking up the MacBook Pro knowing that it's not going to slip out of my hands. I also purchased a Speck case when I purchased my first MacBook Pro in 2012.

I've owned several of these for my MacBooks. The pluses: Great protection, I like the translucent look, and the non-slip feet are very helpful. The cons: I wish the surface was a little tackier or more textured to make holding it more secure (though it's still a huge improvement over the aluminum body of the computer), and I find the corners are usually the first things to go after a good bit of use (which may mean I need to be gentler with my laptop). Otherwise, the price is right and the customer service has been great.

Really love these speck cases. I got my first case when I bought my first MacBook Pro (6 years ago) and I had to buy the second case last week because the bottom of the case broke (I broke it accidentally). These covers last for years, and protect the computers super well!! Plus they come in super nice colors!

This is my third shell for three MacBook Pros and the shell lives up to Speck's high standards. I had to wait a while for the shell--had to put up with an inferior shell that began to break apart within a few weeks. But the SmartShell for my late 2018 15" MacBrook Pro lives up to Speck's high quality products. And to add to this review, each of my 3-4 iPhones has had a Speck case. I'm obviously a Speck supporter!!

I recently purchased a used MBP so that I can get work done while addressing our new puppy's need to cuddle (in any space but my office). This thing had lines in it. I thought maybe after plastic removed they'd vanish. NOPE. stupid quality, has a black dot dead center in the plastic and two long lines "scratches" across the left side cover. These were on the inside under the plastic !! too much work removing again wiping and doing it twice only to find out that it is scratched. shows on the cover, and that black dot almost center where the apple logo shows it off. TERRIBLE. Not time for

Really bummed out by this case. The clips on the back of the bottom shell seem super small and delicate. Though they have held up so far, I fear they will break too easily--especially since these bottom corners are usually the first thing to break.

I dropped my laptop for the first time in 10 years. It was protected because of the speck case I bought ten years ago. The corner of the case cracked, but my computer was without a scratch. (WHEW!) This case is better than the fancier thin covers with pretty designs. It's functionally classy.

I like the design but the case is very difficult to snap in place. In fact I cracked a corner of the screen case. However, customer service is great and they immediately shipped me a replacement case. As an engineer, I think the snap tabs that hold the case to the computer should have a very slight bevel to the snap that would make it easier to install. The MacBook Pro has sharp edges to the aluminum and the plastic tabs just do not easily slide into position without a lot of effort.

I use my laptop all of the time through college, travels, and bringing around town to work. My past go-to case only lasted a couple years at most and chipped on the edges quite a bit. I was recommended this case and it has been absolutely perfect! I highly recommend! It fits well, has great coverage, and the clear is very nice and clear.

great product and a great fit for my 2012 MacBook Pro with CD/DVD. The black I got is exactly what they said. No fingerprints and no other marks.. Even the logo comes through when Im using my laptop..I would recommend this case if you own a MacBook of any kind..

This is my second of the same case because I got another one with the warranty. Each of the cases I had broke after one week. They cracked down the center because it is ill fitting. I carry it in another protective case so I am not treating the case roughly it is just extremely poorly made and does not last. Don't buy this unless you want to continue to have to deal with speck costumer service by getting another one through the products warranty every two weeks when it inevitably breaks.
