Great Lens

This was a birthday gift for my son-in-law who is a semi-professional photographer. He has reported being very pleased with it and says he has taken wonderful photos with it. Sounds good to me!

Good starter for low budget

Realize that this lens has a sliding zoom. I like it, but it is easy to change focal lengths unintentionally. The images are definitely not the sharpest you'll ever see, especially at long focal lengths. There is also a problem with ghosting. The images are fine for personal photos, but are not professional quality. I wouldn't expect any pros to be buying this lens anyway. It is a very good lens for shooting videos.
