Digital Cameras use infra red to focus, it often results in overly red/purple colours in flowers. This takes the effect away and also save time trying to correct the colour later. I've took some wonderful plant and flower photos, some of which sold to a calendar company, as they liked the vividness of the images

The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Infrared (IR) Neutral Density ND 0.6 (2-Stop) Hot Mirror Filter is a critical factor in digital photography. The color shift is directly affected by the infrared spectrum. Specifically, in high definition photography, the sensitivity of imaging sensors to IR has become a challenge. This is particularly evident when using standard neutral density filters that absorb visible light but pass infrared.
