Tiltall Gold Classic Special Edition
I have a cherrywood 4x5" field camera trimmed in polished brass and this is the tripod for it. Packs easily in the field, doesn't scratch easily, stable in soft ground,adjusts for even my 6'2" height, and does all but "wetbelly" shots with ease. If you do wildlife get the black one, or the silver one if you want to show off. I have used these since they were Leitz Tiltalls in the 1950s and they never failed.

Great Tripod at an Better Price
My wife gave me this tripod for Christmas. It's built like a tank. No plastic parts to crack. Yes, it is heavy, but you want a heavy tripod when shooting outdoors when its windy.
The tensioning knobs for the adjustments allow for individual adjustments on each axis. The large camera platform has a 1/4x20 screw mount (no quick release). The large platform makes for a steady base for large and heavy cameras.
The greatest thing is its looks. This looks like a million dollars. Every part is machined (not molded). Make no mistake, this looks like a piece of furniture. It needs a cherrywood view camera trimmed in brass. It's just beautiful.
Given the quality, and the fact that it comes with the head, you won't find a better tripod with this type of strength for a price like this.
