Probably useful for holding a smartphone or the like. I wouldn't trust it for too much more. But it could be useful for something light.

Seems to work fine except the material that the cup is made from doesn't want to stick to the windshield very well. I had to wet it and move it around a bit to get it to stick. The rest of the hardware seem just fine. I wouldn't trust it with expensive equipment.

Bought this to use for my GoPro. This is not of the highest quality but is made well. Plan to use it on the inside car windsheild for interviews as a second camera.

The price was right so I bought this to play around using my JVC action cam and a Canon S95. that I thought I would mount it on my dashboard. I tested the suction cup on my desk (smooth wood) and I found it adequate to hold either of the two cameras but it is weak compared to my GPS mount. It would not stick to my dahsboard, which is leather, so I ended up attaching the mount to the windshield instead. This works fine with the JVC since I can invert the video. There is a problem also if you want to mount the camera so it faces 90 degrees to the suction cup, say on a window. The lens is obscured by the suction cup. If it were an inch or so longer the lens would clear the suction cup. On the plus side, the ball tightens up quite well and holds the camera solidly in position. The unit is light weight and overall I would buy it again.
