SmallRig Arca QR Half Cage for Sony A7R III/A7 III/A7 II/A7R II/A7S II 2238 features a built-in Arca system which allows users to detach the camera in 2 seconds and shift to other shooting scenarios. Fix the Arca plate to the camera and slide it into the cage. When you need to shoot stills, simply unlock the lever and detach the camera out of it; all accessories you rig up for video shooting such as the monitor, the microphone and the 15mm LWS rail system are kept with the cage on the tripod.The half cage design ensures unobstructed camera grip and buttons access. It does not block the camera hot shoe, battery door or ports. Multiple 1/4"-20, 3/8"-16 threaded holes and Arri locating holes are provided, where top handles like SmallRig Handle 1984 and SmallRig ARRI Locating Handle 2165, or SmallRig Ball Head Arm 2070, 2212 and 2115 could be mounted.On the left is a built-in NATO rail so SmalRig Wooden NATO Handle 2187 or SmallRig NATO Side Handle 1688 could be attached to conduct handheld shooting. Use the HDMI Clamp 1679 to protect the HDMI cable.Note: If you prefer Manfrotto 501PL QR system built-in, please choose SmallRig Cage 2098.

It's a well built cage. But it didn't fit my 6K Full Frame.

Absolutely love the autofocus system. Makes it a breeze to switch between manual focus and autofocus when needed. The functionality of the menu is a negative, but if you use the customizable buttons then it becomes an easy flow.

Worthy purchase

This thing is built like a tank, and makes my A7iii fit into my hand so much more comfortably. The front/top portion is easily removed with two screws leaving it as basically just an L bracket. I purchased some pistol grip tape and used it on the battery door where my right little finger grips the camera. Strongly recommend this little addition!

Brilliant little piece of gear!

Works great!  It fits the camera perfectly and isn’t too bulky.  Easy to balance on a gimbal as well.

This is my second cage from Smallrig. I use this for a small and easy setup. Saying that, even if is a small, have a great capability to rig everything you need on it. I recommend this product 100%. Fit my BMPCC 4K perfectly and is light weight but strong.

Strong and versatile.

This is a great cage for the Song camera.  It adds contact points for adding accessories while leaving the nice right hand feel of the camera.  I use it to add larger external monitor, a handle for secure handling.
