Used 3Pod Q3 Fluid Video Head

I'm fairly happy with it so far. Since most cameras that are designed to shoot stills and video have the shutter release on the right side, mounting the handle of the head on the right (as shown in the photos) doesn't facilitate setting up the shot AND taking the shot with the right hand. To me it makes more sense to adjust the head with its handle in my left hand while keeping my right hand on the camera's shutter release. So, it's nice that the handle *can* be mounted on either side. However, the problem with the design is that when the handle is swapped to the left side, the tightening knob on the left then works backwards, AND that knob is then very close to the handle so it can be a knuckle buster if your eyes are on the camera's viewfinder. For those who shoot *only* video and line up an initial shot before beginning to shoot, this would be a good choice. I bought this for shooting wildlife stills AND video with a DSLR + a long lens, so it's OK, but not ideal.

This head is in no way fluid damped. However, for my purposes (still photography with a heavy lens) it's great. Well made, sturdy, and the dovetail quick release has a nice safety catch that you have to release with a button after loosening the retention screw.

Provides a very stable platform and provides smooth movement in x and y axis. Easily installed onto my tripod, only took one minute. I really like the quick disconnect. Has a release button that must be pushed to slide camera off, which prevents the camera from accidentally falling off. Overall has a solid feel.

For the price being paid this is a phenomenal deal. Works great on just about any tripod and works very well adding a lot of options to your kit.

Bought this with the 3Pod Orbit Tripod. They work very well together. I don't have much experience with fluid heads but this suites my needs just fine. I am a one person You Tuber and I can pan and tilt to frame a shot much easy with this than my inexpensive photo tripod. Plus this is a much taller tripod which I need since I am 6'2" - not I can get eye level video.

The tripod is great however when you put the fluid head on the tripod it won’t fit in the case. In the future you must consider a case that will accommodate the fluid here

No complaints here! This is a very fluid and steady head that will achieve very fluid motions. The dual adjustment for the tilt is a little finicky with it's position being so close to the handle but it's not the end of the world. Would recommend!

Tilt is nice and smooth with effortless start. Panning is smooth, once it is moving, but starts with a slight jerk.

This video head is one of the first I've ever owned. So yes, it's perfect for my needs. It's strong, durable and can hold some weight. The pan and tilt is perfect. I do video a lot, so this was a must. I also throw my slider on top of this, add my ballhead to slider and camera to ballhead and it's still holds up. So it's strong and perfect for my needs.

Got this as a kit with 3 section aluminum legs at the show, i believe it was a show special this head is very solid, easy to use and balance, and can control friction well. the pans and tilts are very smooth, the bubble on the base shows when the legs are level this is my first video QR plate and its harder to get off than i expected cause of the security lock, but i guess i shouldn't complain i am able to lock the camera at a specific balance point so it is not trying to tilt all the time i really enjoy this head
