I have been using the GoPro's for a year now and LOVE them. Not only do they offer exceptional quality cameras at affordable prices BUT they also offer several accessories at great prices. The tripod mount is very inexpensive and works very well. I shoot a LOT of underwater stills and video with my HD Hero and now the HD Hero 2 cameras and this tripod mount is an essential piece of gear for me to mount cameras on my monopods. Some days the water is too rough or currents to strong to get into the water so the monopods with the tripod mount allows to film while still onboard. When shooting from under the water the tripod mount and monopod allows for better shooting. The bonus is that when in the water with sharks (who are quite attracted to the voltage in the camera) the tripod mount and monopod allow me to get a buffer distance, keeping the camera a safe distance from me and the sharks.

Excellent product - used this tripod mount for over a year in a marine environment for attaching a GoPro HD to a custom telescoping pole. Very durable, works as described and shows no sign of wear in over a year. Recently ordered another one for the new GoPro HD 2. Not sure why the first reviewer only gave it 3 stars..it is a great product.

You have to pop out the nut from another accessory for this part to mount properly.
