AVOID BUYING THIS ITEM AT ALL COST!!!
It is for a reason they don't show the funny cable that you must use in the back of this Battery.
I bought it for a underwater housing and I took into account the dimension of the battery but not the funny cable that goes in the back...now this battery is trash!!
DO NOT BUY IT!

Not for SR11
Boought to use as spare battery for my HDR SR11. I initially liked the idea that you can charge it off the jack on the back of the battery while it is off the camera. However the camera shuts down with the "you cannot use this battery on this camera" message.

Requires you to purchase a charger
It came with my Sony HDR-UX20 camcorder starter kit. Not only does it have the problems listed by the other review, but it also cannot be charged by the camera like the Sony battery. It requires the purchase of a charger.

Does not work on HC7
When attached to the body of Sony HC7, the camcorder shows info: "Cannot use this battery on camcorder" and shuts off. Repeated attempts to start the camcorder yield no action, not even the message again. I would not want this battery even if it worked. For some reason it requires a jumper cable to be connected to the back of the battery across two terminals. It looks flimsy. Terminals are hidden under the rubber covers when not in use. One of them has a green LED which, according to instructions, turns yellow when the battery is low. The picture of the battery on this web site does not show this cable.
