Most sturdy shoe adaptor available

I use this device to mount a Rode microphone (better than proprietary Canon) and/or an old Sony LED ring light on my Canon Vixia HF G10. After considerable research and reading reviews, I am very glad that I purchased this odd little accessory. What I didn't realize at the time is that this cube has mounting facets on the front, top, back, and both sides. In theory, I would be able to mount multiple devices at one time.

This adapter converts Canon's proprietary "Mini Advanced Shoe" shoe to a universal "cold" shoe. The Canon Vixia HF10 and HF100 camcorders are currently the only two camcorders known to have the Mini Advanced Shoe.

This multipoint adapter allows the user to mount devices vertically or horizontally, depending on the device. Some manuals for wireless devices recommend the antenna be oriented vertically, and CMS-CUBE easily allows this.

There is no electrical connection made with this adapter, it is a cold shoe mount only. The base of CMS-CUBE stays clear electrical contacts by a wide margin to protect against accidental contact. The shoe mount is aluminum with a powder coated finish.

The black adapters are recommended for the HF10, the silver colored adapters arefor the HF100. The recommended color is only for color matching, either adapter will work with either camcorder.
