nice mixer, but having headphone issues!

I use this little Makie Mixer for video editing, to have a better sense of audio levels then Premiere's color slide meters indicate. The first few days all was fine but I began to have audio drop-outs. I could see the led's changing with the audio and the sound was going into my external sound system to the speakers, but the headphones kept cutting in and out (I use the phones at night so I don't disturb people). Don't know if there is a problem with the jack or my phones. I'll try another set of phones and if there's still an issue I will return the mixer for a replacement.
