This is a sturdy, nice, reliable, easy to operate tripod. I use it with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II and am happy with it. However, the ball head does not allow (and was not meant for) smooth panning for videos. In essence: great buy for most still pictures, but you may want to consider (as I am) buying an extra head apt for panning if using video.

I bought this particular model because I have a pair of astronomy binoculars which weigh 11 lbs, so I needed something sturdy to hold them steady. This model does the trick.
