The WD WD1003FBYx Enterprise SATA Hard Drive with 1TB storage capacity, SATA interface and data transfer rates of up to 3 Gb/s, stores high quality streaming videos from multiple surveillance cameras. In addition, the hard drive also supports video archiving with ultra-fast data access and on-demand video playback.
With dual actuator technology, the RE4 hard drive features improved positional accuracy over the data tracks. Using the electromagnetic actuator principles, the primary actuator provides coarse displacement. The secondary actuator provides accurate head adjustment using piezoelectric motion. Multi-axis shock sensor effectively handles shocks and prevents data loss.
The No Touch ramp load technology ensures the recording head does not touch the disk media, minimizing wear and tear of the head/media. Featured IntelliSeek function calculates optimum seek speeds to minimize power consumption, noise and vibration. The StableTrac function firmly secures the motor shaft at both ends to minimize system-induced vibration and stabilize platters for accurate tracking. With TLER (Time-Limited Error Recovery) function, the RE4 Enterprise Hard Drive allows for improved error handling in a RAID environment.
The RAFF (Rotary Acceleration Feed Forward) nullifies the effect of RV (rotational vibration) on the RE4-GP Enterprise Hard Drive. In addition, the RAFF detects RV disturbance and controls head position to keep the drive head within safe operating region during read/write operations. Incorporating PMR (Perpendicular Magnetic Recording) technology, the hard drive offers improved aerial density.
Employing the thermal extended burn-in test procedure, the RE4 hard drive passes through extended burn-in testing with thermal cycling to ensure reliable operation. In addition, the enterprise hard drive can be used for applications such as servers and video surveillance.
