I've found these shoot-through diffusers to be extremely useful in and out of the studio. I primarily use them as scrims (shoot a flash through them). Sometimes in product work I will use them to create nice reflections on shiny products. Although this is one of the best in the category, I have two complaints: (1) It does not have a white elastic border as the photo implies. This would be a great feature when I'm using it in tight quarters for product work. (2) The square shape seems to not pull the diffusion material quite as tight as my corresponding round diffusers, since it's not pulling equally in each direction at the same time. So, while the square shape makes it easier to use in many spaces, it's not as good for putting a nice gradient on the front of say an iPad. With the square shaped diffusers wrinkles in the diffusion material are more likely to show up than with round diffusers. So, I have both in my kit. I use this one when I can and the round one when I have to.
