I am in total laughter at reviewers who are panning this eyepiece...I open the wrapper it came in and in less than 35 SECONDS I was ready to go, tha simple!!...extremly comfortable!!! A difference maker...Glad i made this purchase

VERY COMFORTABLE,,,,BUT I HAVE TO HOT GLUE IT TO THE EYEPIECE,,,OTHERWISE IT FALLS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A GIG

I have this mounted on the eye cup of a Seagull viewfinder attached to a Zacuto frame on the back of a DSLR. I use it when shooting video. While not 100% necessary, it's nice in that it a) helps completely block out external light and b) doesn't leave the annoying streaks on my glasses that the rubber eye cup alone often does. So it's worth the small cost for me. Note to those, like me, worried about permanently modifying their viewfinder: this does not attach with adhesive; rather, it slips around the edges of the eye cup. So if it doesn't work for you, don't worry, you won't be spending time scrubbing off some sticky substance.

The Zacuto Bluestar Eyepiece is not as difficult to put on as many other users have said. It just takes proper technique and once your figure it out then you're good to go. It only took me 5 mins to put it on and to tweak it in the proper position. It makes a great difference with it's soft cushion resting on your eye and cutting out all light to focus on your shot. I am very happy to have made this purchase.

Getting this thing onto the Zacuto EVF was an exercise in frustration. It is not obvious how to get the rubber eye cup into this thing. I was concerned that I might damage it but after some bending and stretching, I got the thing onto the eyepiece.

Have not been able to attach this unit, the instructions were useless and could not find help on company's website
