Thin and light, MacBook Pro 13.3" Notebook is designed to go anywhere - including places with less-than-stellar lighting. A built-in sensor detects changes in ambient light and adjusts the keyboard and display brightness automatically. So you're never left in the dark. When you pack so many pixels into a display - 4 million on the 13" notebook, the results is positively stunning. The pixel density is so high, your eyes can't discern individual pixels. A spectacular 2560-by-1600 resolution on the 13" MacBook Pro let you see more of your high-resolution images with pixel-for-pixel accuracy. And text is so sharp; you'll feel like you're reading email, web pages and documents on a printed page.
The Retina display reduces glare while maintaining incredible color and quality. Its high contrast ratio results in blacker blacks and whiter whites. And everything in between is rich and vibrant. IPS technology gives you a wide, 178deg. view of everything on the screen, so you'll see the difference at practically any angle.
With the latest-generation Intel processor, the 13" MacBook Pro with Retina display lets you take your most performance-hungry apps on the road. That means wherever you can take your camera, you can take Aperture and your entire digital photo studio, too. Hyper-Threading technology, which enhances performance by letting each core handle multiple tasks simultaneously, is included in every model.
The 13" MacBook Pro with Retina display features Intel Iris Graphics, which boost performance by up to 90 percent so it can handle both everyday tasks and graphics-intensive creative apps. Scroll through large photo albums with ease. Play games with amazing detail. Even connect an external display or two. It's just another way this 13" MacBook Pro is small on size and big on performance.
The battery for 13" MacBook Pro lasts up to 9 hours. That's impressive battery life for any notebook. But for a high-performance notebook with an ultra-high-resolution display, state-of-the-art processors and graphics and a superslim design, it's absolutely remarkable. The built-in battery gives you up to 1000 full charge and discharge cycles and up to 30 days of instant-on standby time.

Excellent Deal, Excellent Performance

I purchased the 13" Retina MacBook Pro as both a backup machine for my beefier 15" rMBP and as a secondary machine to help with data management while working on film sets. While this particular model doesn't have discrete graphics like its bigger brother, it was a relatively inexpensive solution that fits my needs well. It's hard to find non-standard configurations for sale from anywhere but Apple, but Adorama luckily had this model with 8GB RAM available for immediate shipping, which was great. 4GB is far too little, and the jump to any models with 16GB cost more than I was willing to spend on a backup machine. Overall, while it's still a hefty chunk of change, it's hard to beat the value here. The machine is screaming fast (650MB/s+ on the internal PCIE flash storage--wowza) and the graphics, while a bummer, isn't a deal breaker on an entry-level laptop. It's hard to argue with the price/performance ratio here.

The Macbook Pro is a well designed and really nice machine. I docked it one star because it's almost impossible to upgrade later, so you have to load it up when you buy it, which is very annoying.
Slim, light, great screen, very fast. Really no shortcomings, except it isn't cheap - but after using it for a while, I think you get what you pay for in this case. I use it for a lot of things - software development (Xcode), photography (Photoshop and Lightroom run incredibly fast on this thing), and I run Windows in both VMware and via Boot Camp for some work stuff. Easily the best laptop I've ever had.
I just had to review my new Macbook Pro 15.4" retina laptop before I went to bed. My new Macbook pro came shipped to my place today and I was so happy. It is an amazing peace of machinery. It is very well made aluminum body and glass track pad and is pretty light. Not a cheap made plastic laptop like my previous HP. I've used PCs all my life and I have to get used to the new Mac. I am so used to using a PC that I am having a hard time doing a lot of things that a PC does. Compared with my previous 4 year old PC this is extremely fast no freezing and folders and programs open up in a flash. I highly recommend a Macbook Pro for professionals. Very fast shipping as well, even though the representitive said 4 to 6 business days, it came to my place in about 3 days. Very happy.
Funny enough, two of my colleagues have already asked about the notebook during meetings. I needed a small laptop to take with me everywhere; 8GB RAM is good enough, the display is wonderful. Open it and it runs; I never switch it off. I can share apps between Macs (my home computer is a MacMini with 16BG RAM): Photoshop, Lightroom, essentially all original Mac apps I only needed to purchase once, MS office I got from work for free. I would recommend buying the attachment for LAN. The notebook is small and weighs very little, it can easily be used without a mouse, although I always have one for desktop use. Flat base means only two USB connections; use of a bluetooth mouse would be an option. The flash storage makes it incredibly fast. I would not store large numbers of photos or music on it; it's not made for that purpose. Of course I'd like it to be cheaper, but it's worth the money. I give 4 out of 5 stars, because no product should fit the description "it does not get any better". Ever.
I was in the market for a new MacBook Por and Adorama had an unbeatable deal. Not only did they have the best price, but also 3 years of AppleCare for free. What a deal. The MacBook Pro is amazingly thin. The whole computer is thinner than just the keyboard half of my old MacBook Pro
I purchased this for my daughter who is headed to college. She needed something that would last 4 years and with a minimum of hassle (aka the disaster that is windows 8). Since I have a similar MacBook myself I knew she would get an outstanding laptop so it was really a no-brainer. The only choice she had to make was btw. the air and the pro w/retina. They are very close in price so the choice is between a little more performance and a nicer screen vs. lower weight. She chose the pro but either would have served her fine. A week after we ordered the mac I noticed a new promotion that included 3 yrs of AppleCare for the same price that we had paid (already $100 below list price so equivalent to the Apple educational discount). I emailed customer service @ Adorama asking whether we could get that also since we had only just received the mac. I had anticipated some kind of insistence would be required but was pleasantly surprised when it was shipped right away. Of course this is the what one would expect any decent company to do but sadly it is rarely the case these days. I will be a return customer.
Excellent performance, great display (retina), the right combination of size for transporting and use. Solid construction. A well designed machine!
I use it for home use, transferring photos from my Nikon D800E camera, the detailed of sharpness and gamut of color is really great. It is a good machine for programming my game app.
An awesome MacBook Pro for a little over $1K. Can't beat the price or quality.
Used for photo editing as well as general use. An amazing product that so far lives up to its reputation. For starters, wonderful engineering and design. Great size -- thin and no residual wish that I'd purchased an 'Air' version. Plus, the screen size feels and appears much larger than 15.4" -- feels more like a 17" screen. Very ample, but still compact enough to carry easily. Have recently loaded a number of photo editing programs onto it. Seem to work well and extremely fast. Happy I got 16GB RAM and 516 Flash -- may come to wish I'd gone for the !GB Flash. Just starting to work with it. But, very happy with it so far.
