I bought 4 of these 18 years ago, and I wouldn't consider buying anything else. I recently needed to add another, and I knew it would be an Avenger. Are they pricier than other stands? Sure. Can you get foreign C-stands cheaper? Yes. In some cases 2 for the price of 1 of these. But I've used those stands, and I won't waste my money. They break, they don't tighten with limitless adjustment because they use notches - these let you tighten wherever you need to. The blue rubber feet are great for when you have to be sensitive to location flooring, and the rubber grips make it much easier to use. Think about this: 4/5 of my stands have been used for almost 20 years, and they still look almost brand new. They hold up!

This is a very beautiful and solid C-stand. I own Avengers C-Stands, and quite frankly there is no comparison in the quality and durability of these stands. I put these C-stands thru hell and back, and they are just reliable. I have used other C-stands while helping other professionals, but you can tell the difference. When a C-stand begins to wobble, beware! My Avenger C-stands of 20 years are just as solid as the day I bought them. You can not go wrong with these Avenger C-stands!

One of the best made c-stands available Confidently support your large softbox and strobe with the addition of a sandbag. Check out a youtube video to ensure that you use it correctly.

Not cheaping out on a c-stand is a wise investment and a black Avenger is best. The grip on the knuckles is great on these and the detachable legs make transporting easier. Good weight and height.

This stand is sturdy and reliable. It can easily hold my Bowens strobe and 5 foot softbox. Will soon buy another.

It's a very strong high quality build stand and is highly recommended. Why risk using a lighter stand with expensive photography equipment? I can basically stand on one of the legs and it easily supports my weight.

Easily supports a 3X4 softbox and an older Bowen moonlight on the overhead boom without sand bags or counterweight although I recommend you do use them. The stand is rock solid with hefty locks that you use your whole hand to operate. It's a quality product that will probably outlast a couple of generations of photographers.

I own a multitude of standard lighting stands. None of them compare to this Avenger C-Stand. It is rock solid, bends and twists into any position needed, and holds an enormous amount of weight. My 5' octabox hangs like a feather without any counter balance weight needed. The black cuts down on reflections and I have yet to have an issue with the paint scraping or chipping off. The removable turtle style base is a must have. With the legs off this stand fits in my grip case with everything else and isn't a pain to transport. Despite it's hefty price tag, if you're only going to buy one stand, this is the one to buy.

Heavy enough to hold your light boxes at any angle yet easy to move around. Definitly not a portable light stand to take on location unless for some serious photography. It does fold up quite compactly.

McNally talks about "C-stand Complete" in his books on his blog and in person on The FlashBus Tour. I finally had a situation where I felt like I should buy one and all I can say is that McNally is right. This is an important, useful, versatile and awesome stand. I love it and will be looking for another soon.

I was looking at a lighter weight stand/ boom combo. A sales agent suggested this instead. For my mono-light heads this was the right choice. I'm super happy, and will buy another in the future.

I bought two of these. One was perfect, the other must have been partially rinsed when it was sealed in the bag. It literally had a cup of fluid in the bag and was covered with what looks like polishing compound. The steel was completely fine, the surface finish on the aluminum fittings had been attacked by the polishing compound. Very strange. But it was still completely functional

Love having a complete c-stand. Solid stand for speedlights with modifiers or my AB1600s. Love being able to fly light in from above. Don't forget your sandbags though. It's rugged but leverage is leverage and it will tip over if not braced.
