Pretty darn good, had it almost a year

I'm female, 5'4", 160 lbs and at the lowest seat level it feels just a smidge big. I have to wear Danskos so that my feet are on the ground to sit all the way back without my thighs getting circulation cut off. The mesh back is adjusted all the way forward, and it provides lumbar support. Someone had suggested HON chairs, but looking at the reviews even people 6ft tall felt those were too big. The armrests adjust up and down with a button, but adjusting the width involves turning a screw knob. Adjusting the mesh back depth in relation to the seat requires an allen wrench, so it not easily adjustable. The back itself is not adjustable, so you can't adjust where the lumbar support hits. I got this chair to do extended computer work and my posture is much better rather than being hunched over. I went with the Alvin brand because I had seen them at a nice art/architectural supply store. The construction is good and the pieces of metal are heavy. I'm really glad the UPS guy carried it to my door for me, 48lbs in a big box! Alvin has good reviews for their drafting chairs, so I chanced it for an office chair. I think it's pretty good quality for the price and should last longer than most chairs bought at Office Depot or Amazon. I used to have a Steelcase Amia chair, but that wasn't in my budget this time. There are no fire retardants in the upholstery, which is good. The chair came in a strap bound cardboard box that was dented in the corners and slightly beat up. The contents were dusty but the upholstered parts were mostly wrapped with bubble. I'm a fairly adept at putting furniture together, but I was confused by the instruction page which is a diagram that is small and hard to discern. I put the pieces in the wrong direction and had to start over because it wasn't clear which way the cushion or armrests are facing in the diagram. There is an allen wrench, but I was really glad to have my ratcheting tool when I had to start over. I've had it almost a year and I'm happy with it. Seat is comfortable sitting in it most of the day.

About Alvin Paragon Mesh Back Manager's Chair

The Alvin Paragon Mesh Back Manager's Chair is designed for those who love to rock, lean back and take comfort in a plush, molded foam seat that is 3-1/2" thick x 20" wide x 18" deep. The rocking tension is easy to adjust and can also be locked into the upright position. The seat tilts automatically as the back rocks with 2-to-1 synchronization. For every 2 degrees that the back reclines, the seat automatically tilts 1 degree. It comes complete with padded armrests that are width and height adjustable with seven positions, pneumatic height adjustment from 18" to 23" and a 26" diameter reinforced nylon base with hooded casters. The tightly stretched, high-grade nylon mesh backrest is depth adjustable, 20" wide and rises 21" above the seat.
