Upgrade/Replacement
This BH500NET "upgrade" replaces a seven year old BH500NET. The CAT5 surge protection ports stopped working for some reason.

Fits my needs
This device is what I use to power a router, switch and/or access point in two remote offices. I can access all of the network devices and even make changes to the UPS remotely. It makes my life easier and saves me a trip to the data closets 20 miles away.

Solved the Problem
Using APC HS500 to backup the Verizon FIOS system consisting of internet, TV and phone. We live in an area that has frequent brown-outs and occasional black-outs of 1 hour or less. This UPS provides the needed power to bridge the outages and keep the communications system operating. The included control software works well and allows you to remotely monitor and adjust the UPS settings via the home network.

This model performs exactly as expected and fits perfectly where I have it mounted on the wall in my communications closet. Please note, this device is NOT for PC backup. I use this to power my cable modem, wireless router, CAT5e 8 port hub, two external hard drives, and an Airport Extreme. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
