Works well but red glow is easily seen

IR illuminators are meant to boost the effectiveness of night vision devices in very dark conditions. The IR810 certainly does that. The problem is that the illuminator puts out a distinctive red glow inside the reflector. It is very noticeable to the naked eye if you are looking directly into the illuminator. That defeats the purpose of NV, seeing without being seen. Build quality seems ok, switching works well with the unit mounted on the NOD. The unit works out to 100 yards or so.
