I went from an Apple to a Windows computer and I am very sorry. DO NOT get windows 8.1 My Computer takes forever to start up ,freezes, won't load emails, freezes when deleting emails, I waste more time getting it to work than using it. DO YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT WANTS A WINDOWS COMPUTER REALLY CHEEP. I AM GOING BACK TO APPLE

I read good things about this computer except one major flaw...comes out of the box with Win8. Took hours to download 95 updates (must be Win8 when it first came out), ran the updates and they failed. Two hours later still looking at the screen "Failure configuring windows updates do not turn computer off". If I ever get the Laptop to boot again I will let you know the outcome. For now I am pretty upset.

The hard drive in this computer is too slow. If you replace with a SSD you will be much happier. Also, for some reason they advertise on this site that this model comes with bluetooth. It does not. You have to purchase the next model up (X750JB-DB71) to get bluetooth. Everything else is pretty great.

I use this computer for research work at UCR. I don't know how it performs on games, but it is very fast on normal use. I am always opening at least 7 webpages in Chrome, 3 powerpoint slides, 2 word files, 10-15 pdf files, instant message software and skype at the same time. It is always responsive. It has a VGA output, which allows you to connect your laptop to a traditional projector. This is the reason I didn't buy Dell & HP, which don't contain VGA port recently. The built-in speaker is not excellent, but it is fairly performing well. The screen is beautiful. The design is stylus with aluminum case. The webcam and microphone can clearly deliver your image & sound during a skype meeting. The rapid wake-up from sleep is useful: it takes about 2 sec to wake. Besides, it takes about 7 sec to hibernate. The only shortcoming is the four cell battery can sustain about 3.5 hr.
