Frank P : How many speeds?DARRELL A : 33 1/3 and 45 RPM - NOT 78 RPM.ASHLEY S : Hey--there are two speeds: 33 and 45.
Shopper : Details about its stylus? Also, can it be connected to an amplifier and/or external speakers?FRANK W : The stylus is a regular phonograph needle. The quality of the sound is great. We have it connected to a Sony amplifier which drives two large stereo speakers. You can connect direct to a laptop or computer through a USB connection and listen through your computer speakers, but it won't play directly through speakers by itself.
Shopper : does this has program for mac book pro?ANDREW R : The manufacturer indicates that this item includes software for both Mac and Windows PCs.

Excellent quality entry-level turntable.

Overall a great entry-level turntable at a great price. I have not used the USB connection 2 convert my LPs to MP3s since most of this music is already available as MP3 content at higher quality. But it is a nice feature to have on the turntable anyway. I've had this turntable for approximately one year. I've had no problems and the sound quality is excellent.unfortunately there is no locking mechanism for the tone arm to hold it in place. So if you is the turntable, it would be wise to use a twist tie to prevent the tone arm from getting damaged. Also, the felt platter cover oftentimes lifts up when you are removing a record or flipping it to the b side. This can become quite aggravating at times. I would have much preferred a heavier rubber platter cover. But overall, I would definitely give this turntable 5 stars.

Amazing quality at a reasonable price!

This turntable was purchased to replace an old analog Audio-Technica turntable. I use the USB input to digitize old vinyl LPs. It works great with Audacity (free) but there is a bit of a learning curve if you're not familiar with the program. There are other commercial programs that will work too. I'm totally satisfied with my purchase.

Excellent machine so far.

Bought this to avoid buying some garbage novelty player with built in speakers. Out of the box it's simple to assemble and I had it up and running in just a few minutes. When I initially plugged it in it turned on and started to try to "play" a record. A quick hit on the stop button put an end to that. Once I had an actual record in place and hit play the machine did all the work for me. The arm came over and placed itself where it needed to be. Love it. Nothing too special to look at but the clear cover is a great addition for cat owners like myself. The whole thing is very simple and easy to use. My only complaint is the length of the RCA output cable. It comes attached to the unit and is *maybe* two feet long. I had to run out to the store and buy an extender to properly hook it up to my system. Not a deal breaker but definitely think about where you're going to be placing this when you buy it.

I would buy this product again

I had difficulty initially getting the recordings at the correct speed. I learned that the inside belt was on the hub instead of the shaft. (That will make sense if you purchase this item.)

Great Buy!

Bought this for the family room. Plugs right into the Sony system. My son bought me some rock and roll LP's to go with it.

Works great. Can't complain.

Seems very reliable. Sound quality is good. Very simple operation. Don't need the USB, but the non-USB version seems to be hard to find in stock. This store was a bit more expensive, but I like their customer service, so I bought it from them.
