The Marantz SR5005P 3D-capable HDMI 1.4a AV Receiver is designed to match the capacity of even the most demanding consumers, the SR5005 is overflowing with inputs and features. It has 7.1 ch surround sound and Audyssey Automated Setup to help you optimize your speaker's potential in any particular room. It's designed to be iPod and installation friendly. There's an AM/FM tuner and it also has second zone capability. The SR5005 is powerful, thoughtful and affords great convenience once it's integrated into your home theater.
The 7.1 ch surround sound is supported by seven discrete component amplifiers. Each one generates 100W of continuous power over a wide bandwidth, ensuring vibrant and authentic audio reproduction. The SR5005 also has the capabilities to handle several Dolby and DTS codecs.
The input list for the SR5005 is ample, highlighted by four HDMI inputs. There are also multiple composite and component inputs that can be up-scaled to near full HD quality. With that many HDMI inputs, combined with up-scaling, you'll have several high-def connections at your disposal. There's even a USB port on the front of the SR5005, facilitating a quick all digital connection to your iPod or MP3 player. The SR5005 also has an M-DAX2 circuit, which restores some of the high frequencies lost during the compression process when MP3s are downloaded.
Installing the SR5005, you'll be aided by the Audyssey MultEQ. It uses an included microphone to optimize your speaker configuration in the room. The on screen display also aides the setup process. You can rename inputs, skip inputs for easily readable menu pages and set several settings. For fine adjustments the SR5005 includes a dynamic EQ.
Almost overlooked in the list of features is the AM/FM tuner, which is also ready for Sirius satellite radio. The tuner has 56 station presets - eight presets divided between seven groups - and you can set satellite stations in the presets as well. Also, if you want to extend audio into another room, the SR5005 has second zone capability. Virtually dripping with features, the SR5005 also has Auto Lip Sync and CEC one-touch convenience, which improve quality and make operation simpler.
