Rode Deadcat kills again
I use the deadcat on the video mic pro and it works! The wind is something we have a lot of in Milford, Utah. We are home to the states largest wind farm. We partially power Schools with wind and ranchers have used wind to pump water out of the ground for over 100 years here in this valley. The dead cat allows me to do live on site video interviews and use the sound recorded on site. The wind is something you can see at work and only occasionally do you want to hear it working in a video. Thanks Rode for a great product.

Bad design, doesn't cover switches
The DeadCat VMP windscreen does cut down on wind noise, compared to only using the windscreen that comes with the VideoMic Pro, but I still got a lot of wind noise in light winds because the windscreen does not cover the switches on the back of the microphone. I was able to eliminate wind noise by covering the switches with a fleece glove. The DeadCat VMP windscreen could be greatly improved by simply making it a little longer to cover the switches.

It came with the kit.
It came with the Adorama VideoMic Pro kit basically for free. It's a good thing to have on hand if the wind kicks up on your video shoot but if it is really howling it isn't gonna save your sound.

A must for all VideomicPro users
Great product that does what it is supposed to do. It seems like it a bit too small though, because it is hard to put it on sometimes. But I film outdoors mostly so I just leave it on.
