The optics are adequate. The fit and finish are adequate, the housing reasonably well-made plastic. I'll use it indoors half a dozen times a year to check focus on our cinema screen, so it's pretty much the right tool and price for the purpose, but I would've liked tighter, less fringey optics. If I were shopping for any outdoor purpose, or needed high acuity, or both, I would keep looking.

I have been using a friend's spotting scope and decided to buy my own. My friend's has an aluminum housing and feels solid and durable. The Barska is light and feels cheap. I wanted to send it back immediately but I thought I would give it a chance. It worked fine in most condidtions except low light. I decided to keep the scope since the price was reasonable and I don't use a spotting scope very often.

I have this scope mounted in my pistol box. I use it at 50ft, 25 & 50 yards. Using the zoom, I can adjust the view to see as much of the target (NRA Bullseye)as I like. The focus is smooth enough to get a sharp view. I can see .22 cal. bullet holes at 50 yards. I am very pleased with this purchase.
