Shopper : Is this item will ever be back on stick? I've been waiting for a while. ThanksDAN C : Just got mine after about 30 day back orderMICHAEL H : You need to buy special clips and/or rod to hang it on light stand. Once it's unfolded, it is very difficult to fold it back due to it's heavy duty rim.J CHRIS H : Adorama, I love you as a store for buying photogear. But why would you send this question to me as a customer? How would I know when it's going to be in stock? I haven't got the slightest clue. Perhaps you need to set up a review process as to which questions customers can answer for other customers. Slightly amused and no help to the customer who asked the question. Shopper : where can I watch video of how to fold it back to be portable?CARY A : I found a video on YouTube. I had trouble folding it at first. It just takes some getting use to.THOMAS M : This one doesn't fold the way most of the videos show using the folding it into a U method. I searched YouTube how to fold collapsible backdrops, but Adorama will not let me post the links for the correct method. Try using the these names and look for the video fsp394 or FotodioxInc.You basically fold it to opposite corners while twisting. Whatever you do,,, Done Force it or you'll twist the frame or worse bend it. Once you've learned how, you'll see how easy it is. It will just foldup with little effort. I take it out from time to time and practice.DONNA O : This is the video that finally helped me to get mine folder without the usual fat lip and cursing. The folding instructions start at around 1:02 in the video. Okay......Adorama won't allow posting of links. The video is on youtube, search for "Lastolite Folding Background" When I stopped trying to "fold a taco" by bringing the sides together and instead started bringing opposite corners together it was finally easy to get the background to cooperate. The taco method works on my other background but this one is a bit more stubborn.MARLIN S : You can find videos on YouTube. When you learn the trick, it's rather easy to fold these. Basically, you grab one of the edges with your left and right hands. Be sure to spread them apart. Then while holding the edge, bring your hands together and the background will flip up and turn into a ring, which will fit into the caseEILEEN B : I looked this up on YouTube and google....make sure to put 60 x 78, because there is quite a few diiferent size collapsible discs.DIXIE K : You tube is what I have done.KEITH S : This site won't allow links to be placed in the answer; so, try this ... go to google and do a video search for "how to collapse a collapsible disc" ... there is a B & H youtube clip that is really good. Hope this helps. (BTW, once you do it the first time, it gets easier)
Shopper : Are these printable? I have a printer that has a flatbed UV printer and he can print on objects placed on the table....what kind of material is it? He will want to know...ACCOUNTS P : No, not printable. This is not a relevant question. This is a background for photography, such as sitting in FRONT of and someone takes your picture. Not sure I understand the question. If asking whether or not you can print objects ON this material, I do not know. I ordered this specifically for the white and black background without any desire to place any printed material on either side. The material is not that thick though and I would say that if the printing bleeds at all, it would most likely be seen through the WHITE side (from printing on the black side).KEVYN B : These are not for print. These are collapsible backdrops great for on the go headshots away from your studio.THOMAS M : The description describes it as "Oxford Colth".DIXIE K : My guess is no.VIVIAN F : What a great idea to print something on these! Let me know if it works (and how to do it), I may like to do that too! Here is my experience with this product. I returned it because it did not meet my expectations. Here are some of the reasons why... 1) It was very wrinkled with no way to really get the wrinkles out. I left it open for several days and the wrinkles still did not smooth out. The material has a sort of plastic-y feel to it and I would be afraid to try to steam it because I fear it may melt. 2) The white side had black scratch marks on it from shipping. I returned the first one I bought thinking that the second replacement one might not have the marks. But even the second one had the scratch marks too. 3) This third reason was really the biggest reason for me to return this item (twice). It did not stand up straight. The sides were tooo bend-y. It was flopsy all the time, even on the background stand made for it. It never looked 'square'. It always looks 'unshapely'. I own a portable collapsible background made by Botero and it is far superior, but is is also much more expensive. Still, I will most likely buy Botero again because of the superior quality. In closing, I would say that for the price (less than 40 bucks), you might buy one and try it. Adorama's return policy is very good and I have to commend them for making it very hassle free. I will definitely purchase other products from Adorama again because of that. If you do decide to buy one, and you ARE able to use it to your satisfaction, PLEASE let me know. I would be very interested to hear about it! Best of luck to you.KAREN T : This is a large collapsible backdrop 5ft by 6 and a 1/2 ft. The material is non reflecting and non diffusing on either side. It almost feels like a rubberized material. I can't really describe it any better than that. I'm not sure that it would hold the ink in printing. But I can't be sure of that either.THOMAS, B : I dont think so. It is a silk like material that is quite thin.CLARK S : This background is made of a vynl material. As far as are these printable, what are you asking. Item is used to create a background for a photo.

Not really what I was expecting

I concede that I purchased this collapsible background at a killer price, but I'm not 100% convinced with the quality. First of all it's warped (understandable, being collapsible) but it doesn't want to stay straight when in use. Maybe a weak frame? Then come the surface, really, really shiny, with the black side being the most annoying one. That's not really what you want to control your reflections shooting headshots on location.

Just what I needed!

Provides great options for on-site shooting. Easy to use and transport to any location. It comes in handy when you need a quick backdrop.

Easily worth the price!

Bought it for when I either run out of Savage background paper or when I'm on the go. It's light, packs up really small and isn't that hard to fold up. Once you get it folded up it easily slips back into it's carry bag. Don't bother paying 3 times the price for other products. This is the one for you!

Good Luck Collapsing

Good product but very difficult to collapse and to figure it out. Anything Flashpoint doesn't come with the best of directions for anything.

Great buy!

Requires a bit more clamping than i would like in order to keep the surface flat. expect to use multiple clamps to keep this in place.

Great Purchase!

Extremely portable ... great to be able to throw it in the truck and take it with me. One thing you need to do, though, if you buy it ... watch the online video of how to fold it back up. It's not hard once you learn how.

Disappointed!

I bought this flex background hoping the other reviews about the Flatness were just isolated cases. They were not. Overall, the Flashpoint brand is a quality product it is just the design that is the issue. I am sure all the other brands of the twist flex have the same problem. Yes you can get it flat by using 2 stands and clamps but for me that elimates the "portable" feature. Several have mention Folding. Folding is actually the easy part. It is no harder to fold than a 5-1 Reflector. Overall it is a quality product "IF" it would fold out Flat and not need a complete set of backdrop gear to use it.

Portable, Dependable...a great product!

I actually purchased 3 different collapsible disc backgrounds and they are all fantastic. If I'm on location, or in someone's home, and they want a portrait styled picture; all I have to do is throw it in the truck and take it with me. One other thing ... putting them back in the zippered carry case will drive you crazy if you don't know how to do it. Just look at their online videos to see how easy it is.

good product

the rectangular frame is stronger than other Flashpoint products and therefore folds easier, one person can do it and set-ups with less twisting. use of a backdrop frame with clamps is essential.

Fair Deal!

I bought this knowing I was going to be flawed. But I took a chance with it because it was a less expensive alternative than the other brands that were basically the same and had the same issues as this one did for much less investment. I can tell you right now...this is a fair deal. One reviewer said it doesn't stay flat...well neither did the others that are more $$ according to reviews. This is true. Solution: Use 2 stands w/ arm and 5-6 A clamps and its good to go. What I got was a really good "Pop-A-Seamless" The scuffs on the white are inevitable (it looks like a rubberized white side - to keep it matte). All camera gear gets scuffed...get over it. When you are in RAW conversion just touch it out. Done deal. If it is high-key white...it will hardly show. Otherwise...this works. The tricky part about collapsing this is to hold it somewhat horizontally put your right foot on the edge of it pinned to the floor and "close your wings" and bingo it's closed. Hope this helps.

Horrible product!

I read the reviews and hoped they were wrong. They were not. This is a very sturdy item. Folding is a big problem. Part of the problem is because of the size the flat steel frame is very stiff and tends to twist inside the sleeve. Even worse is that while it is folded the frame rubs the surface of the white side creating large dark marks. If I can get it refolded I'll return it. If not, I'll exact a little satidfaction and tosh it into the street awatch the cars run over it. It is totally useless to me.

Great once I learned to fold it.

I can't believe the quality for the price. It's big enough to photograph 2 standing and a seated family when on it's side. It fold away into a 24" case. One reviewer complained it wouldn't lay flat, but I did not have this problem and it's easily leaned against a wall and stayed upright. It was a bit tricky to fold because it appear to be stiffer than most of them in the demos on YouTube and they were no help till I watched this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MszpvFq7YQ&list=FL0uX7eKSl4yJMeyq1Vkv2oQ&index=1&feature=plpp_video Then it all made sense and it's really easy now. If you try to fold it wrong and force it, the metal band will twist around on itself and it will figure 8 on you. So don't force it!!! I found out the hard way and it was difficult to untwist. It will collapse without much effort once you learn the secret on the video... Oh!!! and be very careful the first time you open it. It will pop open with some force and smack you in the face and/or knock things of the table... Give yourself plenty of room....

Does not stay flat

The backdrop did not flatten out when unfolded: completely useless. I thought it might just be a defective model so I brought it back to the store and tested the two other ones they had in stock. All were warped! I decided to return it and get my money back. Disappointing.

Works great until the shoot is done

- Better value than alternatives - Pops right out of bag, looks good, works great - First attempt to fold failed resulted in twisted ring; quite scary. Second attempt worked fine. Instructions would be nice and reassuring.
