I concede that I purchased this collapsible background at a killer price, but I'm not 100% convinced with the quality. First of all it's warped (understandable, being collapsible) but it doesn't want to stay straight when in use. Maybe a weak frame? Then come the surface, really, really shiny, with the black side being the most annoying one. That's not really what you want to control your reflections shooting headshots on location.

Provides great options for on-site shooting. Easy to use and transport to any location. It comes in handy when you need a quick backdrop.

Bought it for when I either run out of Savage background paper or when I'm on the go. It's light, packs up really small and isn't that hard to fold up. Once you get it folded up it easily slips back into it's carry bag. Don't bother paying 3 times the price for other products. This is the one for you!

Good product but very difficult to collapse and to figure it out. Anything Flashpoint doesn't come with the best of directions for anything.

Requires a bit more clamping than i would like in order to keep the surface flat. expect to use multiple clamps to keep this in place.

Extremely portable ... great to be able to throw it in the truck and take it with me. One thing you need to do, though, if you buy it ... watch the online video of how to fold it back up. It's not hard once you learn how.

I bought this flex background hoping the other reviews about the Flatness were just isolated cases. They were not. Overall, the Flashpoint brand is a quality product it is just the design that is the issue. I am sure all the other brands of the twist flex have the same problem. Yes you can get it flat by using 2 stands and clamps but for me that elimates the "portable" feature. Several have mention Folding. Folding is actually the easy part. It is no harder to fold than a 5-1 Reflector. Overall it is a quality product "IF" it would fold out Flat and not need a complete set of backdrop gear to use it.

I actually purchased 3 different collapsible disc backgrounds and they are all fantastic. If I'm on location, or in someone's home, and they want a portrait styled picture; all I have to do is throw it in the truck and take it with me. One other thing ... putting them back in the zippered carry case will drive you crazy if you don't know how to do it. Just look at their online videos to see how easy it is.

the rectangular frame is stronger than other Flashpoint products and therefore folds easier, one person can do it and set-ups with less twisting. use of a backdrop frame with clamps is essential.

I bought this knowing I was going to be flawed. But I took a chance with it because it was a less expensive alternative than the other brands that were basically the same and had the same issues as this one did for much less investment. I can tell you right now...this is a fair deal. One reviewer said it doesn't stay flat...well neither did the others that are more $$ according to reviews. This is true. Solution: Use 2 stands w/ arm and 5-6 A clamps and its good to go. What I got was a really good "Pop-A-Seamless" The scuffs on the white are inevitable (it looks like a rubberized white side - to keep it matte). All camera gear gets scuffed...get over it. When you are in RAW conversion just touch it out. Done deal. If it is high-key white...it will hardly show. Otherwise...this works. The tricky part about collapsing this is to hold it somewhat horizontally put your right foot on the edge of it pinned to the floor and "close your wings" and bingo it's closed. Hope this helps.

I read the reviews and hoped they were wrong. They were not. This is a very sturdy item. Folding is a big problem. Part of the problem is because of the size the flat steel frame is very stiff and tends to twist inside the sleeve. Even worse is that while it is folded the frame rubs the surface of the white side creating large dark marks. If I can get it refolded I'll return it. If not, I'll exact a little satidfaction and tosh it into the street awatch the cars run over it. It is totally useless to me.

I can't believe the quality for the price. It's big enough to photograph 2 standing and a seated family when on it's side. It fold away into a 24" case. One reviewer complained it wouldn't lay flat, but I did not have this problem and it's easily leaned against a wall and stayed upright. It was a bit tricky to fold because it appear to be stiffer than most of them in the demos on YouTube and they were no help till I watched this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MszpvFq7YQ&list=FL0uX7eKSl4yJMeyq1Vkv2oQ&index=1&feature=plpp_video Then it all made sense and it's really easy now. If you try to fold it wrong and force it, the metal band will twist around on itself and it will figure 8 on you. So don't force it!!! I found out the hard way and it was difficult to untwist. It will collapse without much effort once you learn the secret on the video... Oh!!! and be very careful the first time you open it. It will pop open with some force and smack you in the face and/or knock things of the table... Give yourself plenty of room....

The backdrop did not flatten out when unfolded: completely useless. I thought it might just be a defective model so I brought it back to the store and tested the two other ones they had in stock. All were warped! I decided to return it and get my money back. Disappointing.

- Better value than alternatives - Pops right out of bag, looks good, works great - First attempt to fold failed resulted in twisted ring; quite scary. Second attempt worked fine. Instructions would be nice and reassuring.

Great once I learned to fold it.

Since Black and White backgrounds are the most popular, we have a collapsible background that is black on one side and white on the other side.
Easy to setup & take down. Horizontal or vertical use..Carry case included to keep it clean and ready to go.
