Handy tripod

By

My first impression was that it was rather small, but once you extend it all the way its fairly tall, but I still have to stoop down to see through the view finder, I'm about 5'7. Its pretty stable, though I did notice some flex in the legs with a heavier lens on it. It packs down to about 12 inches and about the width of a soda can, maybe just a bit larger, which makes it very easy to strap to a backpack for travel or outdoor activity usage. I put it on a backpack and skied down double black terrain to shoot a skiing competition and barely noticed the tripod was there when added to the other gear I had on me. I would feel comfortable taking this tripod backpacking or mountain biking too.

Questions about this item:

Bob T  How does the quick release work? Is it truly "quick" or do you have to twist a knob to get it out?
LON A  The quick release works the same way as the one on my large camera. You do have to turn a knob. That keeps it from slipping accidently. I like the way the quick release works. Only complaint about the entire system is that because of the long neck it isn't as stable as some tripods, but then again it fits easily in luggage when my big tripod doesn't. Not a bad tripod for the price, just wish it was stiffer when fully extended.
