Great Tripod

By

I first want to thank Adorama. Great company. I read tons of reviews and really never saw anything bad but a lot of great things. It was a lot smaller than I expected but when I opened up the box and saw the build quality I was impressed. When you first open the legs I felt they were a little flimsy but when I fully extended the pod and pressed down on with weight I was impressed with the stability. The head is small but great build plenty of adjustments. Over all for the money and a walk around Tpod it's great. I would buy another one maybe the next grade up for my larger lenses. Thank you Adorama.

Good lightweight tripod

By

Its ability to fold down to a small length allows me to strap in onto my camera backpack and keep my hands free. Its easy to set up and take down. Nice change to my big and bulky Manfrotto

great travel tripod

By

I wanted a small and light tripod for travel. I wasn't that concerned about absolute unflinching stability though... and i don't think its realistic to expect that from a 3.1lb tripod regardless of brand. this one met my expectations. i have no issue w/ FF DSLR and f4 zooms. for full disclosure, I do end up setting the camera on 3 second exp delta and holding the center column w/ my hand.

Very unhappy with this tripod.

By

I have two systems, a Nikon D800 plus lenses and an Oly E-M1 & lenses. I was looking for a compact travel tripod for my D800 &, after a lot of research and reading, decided to try this one. I read a number of reviews where people claimed they used this with their D800's and had no problems. To those claims I say "Utter nonsense!" This tripod is rated at about 17lbs & my D800 + Nikkor 14-24mm weighs just under 4lbs. It arrived about two weeks ago a& I used it this past weekend for the first time. The tripod and head feels like good quality but it is useless. The you aim the camera and tighten the head &, as you do, it just sags off the point you are aiming at. To make matters worse, as you tighten the head, the act of tightening it also pulls the aim point down and to the left, absolutely useless. I had to guess the amount off and aim off with every shot I took to compensate for the way it move when I tightened the head. The head has three knobs, one of which supposedly adjusts friction but it seems to do nothing. The tripod is also top heavy when the legs are fully extended. I put it up and turned around to get my camera and the gusty wind blew it over. So no, its a piece of junk if you have a D800 but probably would be fine only for a much lighter camera like my E-M1.

the tripod I have been looking for

By

This little tripod is what I have been looking for to take on hikes and vacations where my other heavy tripod stays home. I like pictures of my wife and myself on trips and this tripod fits the bill. It adequately holds my Nikon D700 with my 28-300 lens. It also allows me to hike to backcountry rivers where I like to take long exposures blurring the water. I have a lighter tripod which travels well but does not hold up under the weight of my photo outfit.

Great tripod for pennies!!

By

I don't shoot much with a tripod, so I really didn't want to make a huge investment. The MeFOTO has been great for my medium format work and even video work. I've used it for locked down interviews and the monopod set up for run and gun short film shooting. The best part is that the tripod is super light (I have the aluminum version) and packs up to be tiny and easy to fut in any bag. For documentary work and run and gun solo shooting, this is a fantastic little tripod. And you have a quick release!!

Great travel tripod.

A very nice small tripod. This should not be your primary tripod - but it is great for travel. Much better than any small tripod I have found. Ball head and a quick release mount make this a winner.

Excellent, versatile tripod

By

I love how compact this tripod is when collapsed and folded. It's quite solid when deployed, and ballhead provides a great amount of control. The weight hook at the bottom of the center column is really nice for securing the tripod in shaky conditions, and the detachable monopod is genius. Plus, the ballhead is arca swiss compatible, so it works perfectly with my Joby Ultraplate. It's certainly heavier than carbon fiber, but it's still lighter than other tripods I've owned, and you can't beat all the functionality at this price point.

Terrific Travel pod!

By

After owning a full size carbon fiber tripod, I really like this as a go-to, carry-anywhere option. It fits in my carry-on rollerbag, so it goes with me anywhere, something my heavy tripod can't do. So no more excuses leaving a tripod at home. It's pretty sturdy to about 3', though feels less stable at full height.

Great Product

I purchased one for my daughter, and then had to buy one for myself. It is very well built, light, yet sturdy and so compact; perfect for traveling.
