This has been a decent tripod. It is a bit heavy, which can be nice. Can be cumbersome to use. But it has worked well and has good at holding my camera confidently.

This tripod states it can support up to 17lbs. I had my Sony 200-600mm mounted to this thing through the tripod foot on the lens. The camera I was using along with it was the Sony A7R IV with the battery grip attached. I was outside in my backyard taking pictures of birds and I decided to mount my lens on the tripod so I can see how I’ll like using it that way. Well, somehow the tripod ended up tipping over and breaking both my A7R IV and 200-600mm lens. The tripod ended up getting damaged as well and now one of the legs won’t retract all the way in. The repair cost for my gear is about $1,400. The weight of the grip, camera, and lens doesn’t exceed or come close to 17lbs. I would recommend this tripod for use with smaller lenses ONLY.

Nice and compact, but has a bit of weight to it. Overall a good product.

Nice tripod with plenty of adjustment for any terrain. Collapses to a lot shorter height than my other tripod which is good. Nice carry bag

It's a nice sturdy and light tripod that's relatively easy to set up. Some of the controls are little non-intuitive, but that's typical with smaller tripods. Overall, it was a good buy.

Was looking for a new tripod because mine was too outdated and heavy. The MeFoto tripod caught my eye because it is sturdy to hold even my heaviest camera and lens combo. It folds down to fit my backpack, its leightweight enough that I don't mind carrying it around the whole day. And it does exactly what it's supposed to. The only little downside is that assembly takes some getting used to and isn't full on intuitive, but that's a small price to pay for a great product!

Overall Tripod Head and legs are solid and easy to use. As it was first time to use twist lock legs it took me a little getting used to and I actually unscrewed the lower leg to far. Once back together it’s been fine. The last extension of the legs makes a little wobbly compared to my heavier tripod. The overall body is light weight and compact and perfect size to carry in my travel backpack. This was the primary reason I bought this and it worked perfect for travel and attached to my backpack and fit in the carry on overheads perfectly.

This is a really nice travel tripod. I needed one that would fit into a small suitcase and this fits the bill perfectly. I was concerned that the twist type leg locking devices would be a hassle to setup but I actually like it better than my other Manfrotto lever type tripod. It is quite sturdy and holds my D7200 with 70-300 telephoto easily.

I purchased this MeFOTO tripod as a gift after acquiring one for myself a few months ago. I wanted something a bit easier to tote around to replace, or, at least augment, the classic Tiltall I’ve had for more than forty years. The MeFOTO has done that quite well - it’s smaller (but still has good extension), lighter, comes with a carry case and adds ball-leveling convenience to set-up. There’s some flex in the legs so t’s not quite as rigid as the Tiltall but it still provides a secure platform for my Nikon D750. That’s a good sized camera so good performance with that speaks to its capabilities. I expect the gift recipient, who also has a Nikon 750, will be pleased.

I tend to move around a lot when at a photo site, so this is easy to move. Not as stable as a heavier tripod but serves my needs well.

I needed a compact tripod but I didn't want to give up a taller tripod. I'm 5'10 and shoot with a canon Eos 1Ds mark 3 and it is rock solid on this tripod. I don't find myself hunching over to look through the viewfinder either. With the center post extended I don't feel as if the tripod is any less sturdy. The tripod folds up nicely and fits into the supplied canvas case. It fits nicely inside any backpack with a main compartment of at least 171/2" tall. If your on the fence about this tripod don't be, just pick it up, you won't be disappointed. This was my first tripod with screw type leg extensions, I must admit, it was a little bit of a learning curve getting used to extending the legs, after some practice though, it's a little quicker on the set up. Thanks Adorama I couldn't be happier.

The Globetrotter tripod is better than expected. It is well built and very sturdy. It's perfect for my Nikon D7200. I am looking forward to many years of use and to the new products Mefoto produces for photographers. Thanks, Wayne

I wanted a light wieght unit, yet able to hold the camera plus telephoto lens. I have not traveled with this unit yet, but have used it. Easy to adjust and seems sturdy. Should meet my needs.

Didn’t like when I first opened but it has since grown on me. It’s pretty convenient and easy to use. It doesn’t feel burdensome when I bring it with me like other tripods in the past.

The versatility of this tripod is just what I was looking for. Plus it has the extra benefit of converting into a monopod when needed.

The pro is that I can use this with my heavy lens, my 100-400 canon lens. The con is that it's difficult to put into place, hard to extend, hard to secure in a locked position. And it's heavier than I thought it would be. I'm tempted to haul it around already set up so that I don't have to spend so much time setting it up each time. Yes, I'm going to keep it, but I'm not happy with it.

After lugging a heavier name-brand tripod for years, I decided to try this tripod. I can say the numerous 5 star reviews are spot on. This tripod is sturdy, well made and very light. I used it on a recent birding trip to Costa Rica, and I can't say enough about how well I liked it. It's small enough to easily fit in a suitcase for traveling, and then onto a backpack for hiking. I had no trouble using a 400mm Canon lens on a 7D with it. It is a bit tedious to operate the twist locks compared to a clip lock, but that's not a complaint, it's how it's made. The friction control for the ball head is excellent! I got used to using it immediately, as it is quick and positive. All in all, a highly recommended tripod!

Perfect travel tripod
By TRAVIS S.
I went looking for a tripod small enough to fit in my motorcycle side case, so it had to be under 16" folded. I'd initially picked out the Manfrotto BeFree after owning several other Manfrotto sticks. However, I was absolutely shocked at the overall poor quality after checking one out at the store. Absolutely not worth ($). So the search continued. Perused all the usual suspects, thought I was doomed to spend ($) on a nice carbon fiber set, then happened upon the MeFoto display. Initial...

Great tripod. Only used it once so far
The MeFOTO Travel Tripod with Ballhead is the perfect place to start. This solid aluminum tripod extends to 5.13', supports up to 17.6 lbs and folds down to 15.4". You can also easily convert this to a monopod without any tools. It features color accents on the leg section locks and top of the tripod and it's supplied with a Q series ballhead in a matching color.
The ballhead offers separate head and pan locks, a 360deg. pan index and an integral bubble level. An Arca-Swiss style quick release plate is included. The tripod's legs can be spread independently, with two-position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang weights from it for additional stability. A durable carry case with a shoulder strap is provided for storage and transport.
