Bogen #3333 lightstands work for me!

I use these stands with my Alien Bees in my studio. They are very sturdy and built well. For travel lightstands I use the 6' versions (#3330) ,they are lighter and fold smaller but just as sturdy! Go for it!

Like any light stand, there great to hold a flash and or umbrella with flash. They're great for using behind a person for a portrait for a back light. Get 2 of them you'll use them time and time again.

Manfrotto 9 ft lightstand

A good value. Does it's job so far. I have had problems with Manfrotto products in the past, but this appears to be what I need in a lightstand and I will get a few more when I have a chance.

Great value!

By

A great portable stand for a small to medium monolight or speedlight from a reliable and well known name in the photo/video industry. Very great value for the hobbyist like me who is beginning to learn off camera flash.

Nice surpirse

By

I was anticipating getting a barely adequate product at this price. Instead, when I unpacked and set up the lightstand, I was very pleasantly surprised to find a substantial and sturdy piece of equipment. I will definitely be ordering another. Adorama comes through again.

Great Product

By

from Binghamton, NY  -  Semi-Professional

I use these to hold the Nikon SB-800 flash via a Bogen 175f clamp with or without an umbrella. They do a great job for what I do. They are very light and quickly setup. I would recommend a sandbag for the base if you plan on using them outdoors. Another solid product from Bogen-Manfrotto!

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Deborah S  Is this sturdy enough for in home studio use of Alien Bee 800s? Also is anything else needed to attach the Alien Bees or do they attach directly to the stands?
JOHN Z  The stands are sturdy enough. I use my large Westcott soft boxes on mine. For the money, it's a good marriage of price, portability and ability to do the job. I also have heavyweight stands, but I don't use them because these are lighter for me to move during setups. I'm not able to respond to your Alien Bee question, since I don't have them. My Westcott fluorescent units mount perfectly. You might toss that question to the Alien Bee company, with a link to the Adorama light stand description. Hope that helps, Deborah! John
tony h  Which brackets will I need to fit an umbrella, a softbox and the nikon sb900 speedlight to this stand? I also will want to fire the speedlight remotely with a pocket wizard plus 2 which I will also be purchasing?
Andrew R  For mounting the softbox with a speedlight you'll need something similar to this: http://www.adorama.com/PAINT326N.html For mounting an umbrella and a speedlight, something like this ise very common: http://www.adorama.com/LTUSH.html

Portraits Without a Studio

Much of my portrait and fashion photography is done on location, but living in Colorado sometimes the models (and the photographer too) just aren’t in the mood for cold weather and snow. That’s when a studio comes in handy.
