The unit I received had a cracked tilt-control wheel - minor. What really bothers me is that I am not able to use my Canon 7D on this head without mounting it extremely towards the rear of the head, as the tightening screw for the mounting bracket can not be tightened otherwise.

I use this to shoot property videos with my 60D in my Real Estate business. I imagine if you had a huge professional heavy rig this may not work but for a DSLR and lens its perfect. I sometimes use a slider and do need to add some weight to the bottom. The competition is walking around with a flip cam and this jewel makes my work look very professional

Purchased for dslr video shooting. It is also a good platform for wildlife stills. The spreader allows for a very wide stance and would be nice to narrow the footprint. This is a very useful product and priced right. The friction adjustment allows for smooth moves within the weight limits.
