Questions & Answers

BARBARA H : does this have a way to quick release the camera off?TAI WEI Y : No, you have to spin it offISAIAH P : No, the tripod only comes with a standard screw mount to the camera. You may purchase a quick release mount to replace the existing mount. However, it will increase the weigh of the tripod as a whole. CHANDRASHEKHAR P : There is a ball (that is connected to the tripod stand) with a threaded stub that connects to the camera. Its easy to remove the camera from the threaded screw but its not a quick release.ASAD N : No it does not. It screwes off only but it's very easy to change the head on the tripod to one with a quick release plate. RITESH K : Just the tripod itself won't have it...but it takes different mounts..and yes that will have a quick camera release.DARMO T : No. The best way is to loosen the thumb screw to unlock the ball. Then you have to unscrew it all the way from the camera.SCOTT H : No
Shopper : Will this tripod go good with my T3i ?MENIOS B : Tripod works great with my T1i, so should be find with T3i (almost same camera specs) eventually you may want to upgrade to bigger ball head if you use a big L zoom lens!YUTING L : Yes,no problem if you don't use big lensMILTON P : I bought this tripod to specifically use with two smaller cameras inside a refrigerated warehouse for the last 16 months. Previously, I had purchased 3 other tripods, but they all broke in this type of environment. The manfrotto has been good and we're still using it. We use it 6 days a week for about 8 hours a day. We're using it to take about 2,500 to 3,000 photos daily. Not to mention, the gear bag is pretty cool.KELLI B : yes- as long as you don't have too heavy of a lens on it. I have a 60d w/ a 18-200mm lens and it held it fine in landscape position. when you turn it to photograph portrait orientation, the camera will droop as the ball head is not strong enough to support heavy lenses. I liked the bag and the tripod in general. Happy shooting!STEVEN T : Yes, I would say absolutely. I've go the same camera and the bag. I would say the overall quality is pretty excellent. The bag has so many pockets, and the tripod is real decent. Hooks up with Canons well. Stable, and doesn't seem cheap at all.WILLIAM D : I have a T3i... works great with it! It's the perfect size, sturdy and fits inside the backpack for traveling to and from a shoot.MIKE W. B : It is a portable tripod. The bottom extension leg is rather thin. But a Rebel series camera should work on it fine with the considerations you have to give to any travel tripod. The lens will be a big consideration. If you are thinking to put a big L series telephoto on your camera you can overload this tripod as the lens gets heavier than the body. The tripod is a good one and you can manage to get a slightly larger ball head onto it with a quick release plate and still have it barely fit into the special compartment. Tripods are a problem. If you can carry it, it ain't big enough. Which is OK for studio work. But a heavy tripod gets back breaking very fast in the field. Of course when you do get it set up it is a joy to work with. A light one like this blows over a lot easier and is less sturdy so you have to think of things like self timers and pay attention to how you set it up and if you can brace it. The shorter the legs are set up the better. It also depends on what you usually shoot and how extended the tripod needs to be for that. This is a good camera case and a nice packing design. The tripod is a light duty which is well built and will handle a Rebel series camera and sensible lens if you work carefully with it. A 7d and an L series zoom lens would be too much camera for it and its supplied head. But a Rebel and smaller lenses should work with care.PAUL H : Yes it works great with mineKARTIK R : It depends upon the lens you are using with T3i. If you are using a normal lense you should be ok, but if you plan to use any heavy lenses like the 70-200, then this will not work. Also be advised that this is an extremely light tripod with very thin legs. So it tends to tip over in windy areas. The ball head which this comes with is not so great. The camera bag works as long as you have only one lens. There is no padded compartment for a second lens in the bigger bag. The smaller one has no padding whatsoever at the bottom. So, my advice would be to save up for a 190 series or 055 series.DONALD H : yes will fit your T3I well ,I use this bag alot for my alpha Www
Shopper : What is the weight the tripod & highth of the of the tripod when it is fully extended ?ALLAN L : The tripod and head weigh about 3 pounds; and with the tripod fully extended (with legs together) it is about 63 inches high.BRIAN S : The tripod is 56" fully extended and the legs spread, however it will reach 60" with the legs fully closed but it's of little use that way. I don't have scales but my guesstimage at it's weight is 3-4lbs.CARLOS T : Not sure of the weight, but the heigth is aprox. 56"UYEN T : Weight: 3 lb (1.4 kg) Maximum Height: 56.7" (144 cm) Maximum Height without Column Extended: 49.6" (126 cm) Minimum Height: 14.2" (36 cm)ANDREW R : The approximate weight of this tripod is 3lbs. Maximum Height - 56.7" (144 cm). Maximum Height without Column Extended - 49.6" (126 cm)

So so so much for it's value!

I use it everyday for my photography needs...I love it.. And I love it... The Tripod is so much useful too.. Makes work easier all in a bag behind me. Though I wish the bag as camera dividers inside. But instead... I've permanent the smaller bag inside it and it holds my lens and place my two cameras on top of it. Also I wish it's padded too..Would have been so great. Anyway it's a very nice bag!

A lot for the money

I was more interested in the tripod than the backpack but had another Manfroto backpack and tripod combo and loved it. The quality of this backpack compared to the other is less but the access is easier. The tripod sticks out the top of this pack whereas it fits completely inside the other. I am using this setup for HDR photography and for that it is perfect! A very good buy where the cost of the tripod alone is almost the value of the whole package.

Great Value for the Money

A wonderful, lightweight combination of a compact tripod and backback. The tripod is very functional for a small digital camera. I used mine with my Canon G12 and it worked perfectly on a recent outing to Sequoia National Park. The backpack is terrific as well. Not only does it store the compact tripod perfectly, I was able to pack my Canon 60D with a zoom lens in the camera bag that fits perfectly inside the backpack in addition to my Canon G12. The backpack had room enough for other things I took along on the trip...hat, gloves, sunglasses, wallet, mobile phone. Lots of pockets and compartments for those sorts of things. For a combination backpack and compact tripod, this is a tremendous amount of bang for your buck. I highly recommend this as your traveling companion on your next photo outing!

good for what it is

for those of us on a budget the tripod is useable. The legs are thin enough that is not very stable in a fully extended position. i sit on the groud with only the first two sections extended and at the larger angle it is stable enough. the bag is junk. the ball head is small so it is not going to hold much more than a small dslr with a f4-5.6 type zoom but it is cast alumiminum so its not going to fall apart. as stated the bag is junk there is really no padded space execpt for a small insert that will only fit a small dslr, no padded space for lenses. I bought this looking for an inexpensive tripod that wouldn't fall apart and could take different heads.

Waaaay better than I expected!

The backpack was a surprise, it can be used cross body while your working and everything is handy (if you don't overload it) for weddings and street photography or travel AND it holds a laptop. The tripod is perfect for travel.

732YB Follow up

This is a follow up to my initial review. In the field the tripod is a bit flimsy. Heavy breezes will make it wobble if the center column is extended all the way. However, the pieces are precision fitted giving the best possible stability with a light tripod like this. I had trouble turning the center column around, so it would fit in the pack, because it fit so snuggly in its opening (actually the release clamp kept getting in the way). Still, this is genuine Manfrotto, and you will not suffer any embarrassment from using cheapie alternative. Still, I had to depend on a timed, or remote, shutter release to get stable shots. The bag is medium-sized on the outside and big on the inside. I carry 2 camera bodies with small lenses, a 70-300 in a pouch, an SB-600, the tripod, and still have room for another lens. There are a few odd sized pockets that are too small for lenses and not very practical for anything else, I own. There is a big laptop-like pouch that is unprotected, but I wouldn't trust my laptop there. The case can be carried in several ways, backpack, over-shoulder, and it has a suitcase handle. This case holds it all, except very large lenses. It's not for backpackers or vacation strollers. I would take it to the zoo or a wedding where the camera and lenses might differ depending on the shot. I like it because I can put all my gear in one bag when I'm out(except my 500mm). The straps are long enough for a large person (which I am) and the quick-clips seem secure enough. The tripod and bag are worth the discount price ([$]) but not the full price ([$]).

Great value

This is my first tripod to support my new SLR. I did not expect anything exceptional for the price, but it has completely exceeded my expectations for stability and adjustability. It has no problem supporting my Canon t2i with my heaviest lens (21oz), and a flash even at maximum height. It is slow to set up, as there is no quick release and full extension requires adjusting 10 flip-locks. The backpack keeps 3 lenses and the body well protected and easily accessable with room left over for a light lunch and a few odds and ends. The tripod compartment won't zip unless you turn the center column upside down or remove the head, which was poorly thought out, but there is no harm letting the head stick out the top between sites, as it also has a retaining strap to keep it from falling out even with the pack upside down. All in all it is a value that can't be beat, especially with the rebate.

Poorly designed

I was hoping to get a lightweight tripod for travel. This is not it.
