About Manfrotto 755CX3

Manfrotto's 755CX3 is a two-stage tripod that features a combination of low weight and high load capacity materials used for its construction and a built-in 50mm half ball leveling system locked by a detachable rotating grip, which allows the camera operator to level the camera without needing to make micro adjustments to each individual tripod leg.

The MH055M8-Q5 photo-movie head is developed to be an ideal solution for HD DSLRs with embedded video functions. The Photo-Movie selector makes switching from shooting photos to videos quick and immediate. In Photo mode, the head provides the speed and maximum freedom in all directions, like a ball head combined with an incredibly precise, smooth and controlled movement never experienced before, thanks to the fluid cartridges and an adjustable counter balance control. In Video mode, a fully-featured video head allows for a precise and fluid movement for pan and tilt with all of the typical video settings, including friction control. The pan bar is reversible for right or left hand users and it can quickly be removed and fixed on a tripod leg, thanks to the included rest clip.

tricky while adjusting leveling

from Fairfax, VA  -  Photo Enthusiast

There is no short on phto gears. You get what you paid for, applies to tripod too. My previous 20 years old SLIK serves its duty and still working. However, I am looking for something for sturdy and accurate. This is is a no joke tripod, it operates smoothly like a professional gear. Two things need to improve though. One, the manual does not say clearly how to adjust leveling. It only mention the red ring at the bottom of center column for leveling..but you need to adjust the leveling on the half ball itself and then tighten it with that red ring. I felt stupid after hours of searching on Google. Second, the pan bar can be oriented for right hand operation but it is obvious the original design was for left handed. By reversing the pan bar for right hand, the tilt control is also reversed...

Have Tripod, Will Travel

from Prescott, AZ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

The focus of my photography is wildlife and travel. This requires a tripod that is sturdy, light and versatile, and also small enough to fit into a carry-on bag (with pan-tilt head detatched). This tripod fits the bill. In the wild, animals and birds don't wait for you to set up a tripod. This is a real problem when using super-telephoto lenses. Previously, my solution was to use a monopod to help steady my shots. However, the 755CX3 is able to function as both a tripod and monopod. Its light and compact enough that I can simply use the attached clips to keep the legs clipped together, while extending just one leg.... shazam! It's a monopod, ready for action. Love it.

Great Travel Tripod

from Prescott, AZ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I travel often for location shoots, and the 755CX3 MDEVE perfectly meets my needs for a light-weight, versatile tripod I can pack into a carry-on bag. Very solid support and weight-to-strength ratio.

Great Medium-duty Tripod

from Prescott, AZ  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I bought the 755CX3 MDEVE Carbon Fiber Tripod with 50mm Half Ball to meet my needs for a light weight, versatile still and video field tripod that would be compact and easy carry. I also selected it because it allows me to shoot from very low angles, as well as higher angles. Of course, the ball head is a big advantage when it comes to being able to quickly and easily level the camera. It does everything I bought it for, and does it very well.

Questions about this item:

Harry L  what is the best fit tripod bag for this model? Manfrotto 3-Stage 755CX3 Carbon Fiber Tripod with MH055M8-Q5 Photo-Movie Camera Head
Harry L  I have found two solutions. One is the shoulder strap way which I like a lot but my wife does not seem so. It is simply a shoulder strap, well made and convenient to use, looks professional, always ready to use but not weatherproof. Manfrotto MSTRAP-1 Tripod Shoulder Strap Another way is to get a bag which is my original goal, I have this ordered and shipped to me. Should be able to receive it tomorrow. It is a bag "supposed" to hold the tripod fit, Manfrotto suggested this item. Manfrotto MBAG80PN Padded Tripod Bag
Shopper  Is this kit including a bag?
Scott B  According to the manufactuers site, No. There are two bags available.. padded and unpadded. MBAG80N and MBAG90PN
Shopper  How well did it work? Were you happy with it?
MARK L  It is great. I am really impressed. The unconventional design only took a little while to get used to. The only drawback is that you couldn't put a conventional fluid head on the sticks but I wanted something light enough to take hiking so this was a great choice.
