I use this as a stationary tripod for my second video camera. I have three of these. The center support rod can be unscrewed from one and put on another to make a very tall tripod. This is useful for shooting over the officiant at a wedding. After I am done, a few twists and I can return the tripods to their original configuration.

I really like the combination of features, small folded size and relatively tall extended height, but the plastic mounts for the leg locks have been cracking off one by one. Not from abuse, but just from the strain of locking them. Once they are broken, that lock won't hold much weight. As more and more of them have broken, the tripod has become useless because it can't support anything. I wish there were as good a combination of features and price out there now that would hold up under normal use.

This is my first tripod and I love it! Its easy to use, very stable, and doesn't take up a lot of room.

Cheap tripods have their place, but there are cheap fairly rugged tripods and cheap junk tripods. A description on a web page won't tell you much. Go to a store with lots of tripods, and play with them for a while. It will become obvious in a short time which to choose.

This is a fine lightweight travel tripod for a small point and shoot camera. I find the design and construction very good.

I received this tripod as part of a package with a National Geographic backpack. While the backpack seems to show some promise, this item immediately is junk--indeed the ball head fell apart when I tried to fit its top to the base of my digital camera. It may have been my fault, but there were few directions--just a list of features. That may have been a blessing in disguise, because I doubt if the tripod would have been able to hold up my camera with its kit lens, let alone with a 55-250mm zoom lens. How can I give this tripod a rating of no stars???

Nice tripod light weight and easy to carry around for hiking and camping. the only problem is it can't hold alot of weight and a little unstable when a heavy lens is on it.

I use it extensively in field work taking nature shots; It makes macro-focusing of the minute details of small flowers work wherein I cannot make this work holding the camera by hand.
