Questions & Answers

Shopper : Is this large enough to load 4x5 film holders?PHILLIP L : You can but it's a real hassle, go bigger.ANDREW R : No, I don't believe that this size is ideal for loading film holders.
TIMOTHY F : How are the zippers on the changing bag intended to be used? It seems to me that the internal zipper has the zipper tab on the wrong side.MORRIS T : Tim, I understand how it seems, but the zippers are correct. Unzip both zippers from the outside, put everything inside, close both zippers (double blind light blockage), put your arms inside and change the film, remove your arms and unzip both from the outside. I don't use film anymore but have used this bag many times with no problems at all. Hope this helps. MorrisSCOTT M : The zippers are operated from the outside. After the bag is loaded with everything you will need you then put your arms in the holes. None of your film should be exposed until everything is in the bag and your arms are in the holes. I typically use a bottle opener or a pair of small pliers to open the film cans.GREG M : It's really a bag in a bag. Put everything you need in the inner bag and zip it up. Then zip the outer zipper. The sleeves go into the inner bag and that's were you open the film cartridge cut it, load it on the spool and place it in the tank. I think the outer bag is for extra protection. If you forget something before you get it on the spool, like scissors then just put the film in the tank weather it's on the spool or not and close it up. Put the scissors in the bag and then finish. I really like the bag I have had this one for several years.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?STEPHEN K : first one, new to developingJON H : Needed for processing of film on the go.PAUL S : Needed one, this size seems portable and affordable.EMILY K : small and cheapDAN Y : Right size. Great price.Alexander M : need to change lenses in the field on a mirrorless cameraMIKE C : right sizeCHRISTINE M : Needed it.ELIZABETH B : I recently purchased an adapter that will let me shoot 35mm in my Kodak Instamatic. I do not have access to a proper darkroom currently, and I've used these types of changing bags in the past when I studied darkroom photo. I have every bit of confidence this product will be exactly what I need to load my film so I can breathe new life in to my camera.MARIANA L : I would like to start to process my films at homeJANE D : price; suits my needsCaleb M : Need bagSTEVE R : Perfect sizeEric V : It was the cheaper option.Donna M : I bought this small changing bag, because I have a Holga camera. It is the perfect size and easier to store than the larger bag.ALLEN G : large format 4X5 field film changing bag. Item is small enough to fold easily for storage in a backpack.

Decent bag, cheap zipper.

The inner zipper pulled apart after 10 months of use. Getting a new zipper installed would probably cost more than the bag.

Well made, definitely small.

This bag is really well made and I'm finding it to be useful. Only thing to note is it is relatively small (which is obviously in the description) but if you think you'll have more than just a few items in the bag, then you may want to consider getting a bigger bag.

Lens changing solution

Just the ticket for changing lenses on my MF film camera, Mamiya 7. There was a risk of light leaks with /film in it. This size is just right & packs easily. A bonus is the two levels of light protection

Good product

Exactly as advertised. The only thing I would suggest is wearing long sleeves to fill the arm holes.

Perfect for small jobs.

It is foldable and gets the job done. You can snugly fit a roll of film, 2-Roll tank, can opener, scissors, and my hands in this bag. It works great for small 2-reel jobs. Any thing more you'll need a bigger bag. Great for self developers. A must have for students. Celluliod Snobs, this isnt for you.

great

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a small point and shoot that won't rewind on it's own. This bag is just big enough for me to pull the film out and rewind by hand.

Perhaps too small

Although I could get the 6x6 negative from the roll to the reel, using the small bag its quite difficult for inexperienced users. My negative suffered the results of my lack of hand skills in such an small space. I would recommend using a bigger bag.

Small Changing bag

A little bit too small for use with a development tank. Might be ok for fixing a problem with a film camera.

Not big enough.

Nice bag but not big enough. Not sure what it would be big enough for. Simply too small for me, should have gone with a bigger one.

Great field bag, I bought a second

Good for ksaving fat rolls from 120 or 620 cameras or even responding films from 120 to 620 spools in the field. I thought I need larger but these are just fine for a camera, film and my large hands.

Nice size for the field

This is perfect for my camera bag to make sure my 120 film is not fat rolled when removing from my cameras. It is large enough to hold a pinhole or a 120 toy camera. I can also transfer 120 film to 620 spools easily in a pinch.

Exposed My Film!

Was loading my film into my tank with this tiny bag, and when my film was developed it was all ruined by light from this bag, the arms are so short that I think the light is getting in when I move my wrists, i do not recommend this bag if you are trying to load film into a tank.

Multi-purpose Delight

Perfect product for changing lenses in the field for nature photography. Light in weight, the ideal size for a camera/lens and compact folded. Well made and inexpensive, it's a superior product that is a wonderful aid in keeping dust off the sensor.

Changing bag works great

I use this bag mostly to make 620 film out of 120 film. It's small, easy to use and it's big enough for my purposes. If I was loading large format film holders,or putting film in processing reels I would need a larger size.

Useful for Digital Photographers

I have been using changing bags for over forty years. Since switching to shooting entirely digital, I have discovered a small changing bag is valuable for changing lenses under dusty conditions.

Great for handling 120 "Fat Rolls"

I do not use this for bulk film rolling, but to unload the 120 film from my Diana and Holga Cameras. I was getting tired of severe light leaks that ruined half my frames. I can now carry this small bag with me and place the whole camera inside, remove the back and tighten the roll of film before pulling it out of the bag. It also is handy if you want to use 35 film in the medium format camera. It allows me to rewind the film in the canister without over exposing the film. Handy and the right size for my needs

Great, long lasting bag

I bought one of these bags back in 1980 and it has lasted through bulk loading film adn loading film into developing tanks until recently. One of the elastic bands finally gave out after over 30 years of use. While in the last decade I have shot mostly digital for work, I continued to shot film for personal projects. The size of the bag, IMO, has been perfect for my use.
