It fits right onto the hotshoe of your camera. Easy, easy. No problems, put the batteries in and you're good to go. Nothing bad, it serves a purpose and that is to flash a light onto my subject without using the flash.

Overall, this is a good light for macro photography or portraits as long as they are done in close proximity. Light output is good for its size but, as others have mentioned, quality of the all-plastic housing is poor. The shoe mount is wobbly and it is only a matter of time that it will break. So far, I had no issue with the battery contacts. However, the switch to turn the unit on moves so easily, all it takes is a little movement in the camera bag.

I use this for close up detail shots when I don't have a larger light source available. I alsouse this for wedding receptions for a little bit of extra light for my autofocus. This thing has extremely poor design. The shoe bracket is terrible, it does not attach firmly to the lights shoe so it will fall out. Mine fell off the bracket and hit the floor and broke. I opened up the light and noticed that the flimsy piece of plastic that holds the batteries in place came loose. I glued it back together and reinforced it with another piece of plastic and it works great now. If bescor would have added a little reinforced plastic behind the battery holder this would be a solid piece of equipment. My suggestion, buy this and open the light and reinforce it before you drop it and break it. its a great product for the price, my 2 cents.

Got two of these for use with my DSLR for adding light for closeup/macro still photography... Works good for that use for me...
