I've been a loyal -and happy- Bose customer for around 12 years now, however, over the last few years I have noticed a very serious decline in quality and durability of Bose's wired headphones (namely the QC range). The reason for this review is because the cord connecting my phone to my headphones has now stopped working properly and I only purchased my QC25's a little over a year ago now (around March or April 2018). Having noticed the padding around ear cups starting to flake off after the first 7 or 8 months I thought that was much sooner than it used to be, but I knew this was to be expected as I have owned several sets of Bose's headphones in the past and thought it was a shame but there's not much I could do other than continue to take as best care of them as possible to try and delay the enviable. I have only recently learnt that Apple now owns Bose, much to my disappointment! No wonder the quality and durability has gone down. I might as well waste my money on Beats by Dre! I wasted just under $400 on headphones that barely held together for 12-months only to be told that they're now out of warranty and then tried to sell me inferior wireless headphones for more than the wired ones... What a joke! Why on earth did you sell-out Bose? It's next to impossible to find a store that stocks spare parts (ear cushions, cords etc...), parts that one would expect not to have to worry about replacing within the first 12-months! We'll see how this is handled before I can confirm that you've lost yourself someone who has not considered any other brand and was extremely happy. What a shame. Ps: yes my name is real.

The Noise Cancelling is amazing and the sound quality is great. I stopped with 4 stars because I noticed some sound leak.

I'm an 80 year old man and hard of hearing. Music just doesn't sound right anymore but with the Bose headphones plugged into my Bose cd player it's just like old times listening to my cd's. Great buy!

I'm not a big fan of Bose but I just wanted to try one because of lots of good reviews. I didn't have a big expectation when I ordered QC25, but I was pretty impressed by the sound of it. I own a few other headphones, like Sony Reference series and Sennheiser noise cancelling models. Bose QC 25 easily wins all of them in terms of sound quality.

Love the old Bose 25. Used them on a 12 hour flight and they saved me. Might not be the newest version, but more than good enough.

They don’t work with an I phone nor an IPad. Just get clicking .

Bought one set for spouse and liked it so much I bought another one for myself. This set helped me survive a transpacific trip to South East Asia, one leg involving a 16 hour non stop jaunt. Bose's CS is good, we had issues with the audio cable which was promptly replaced.

Bought these for my wife and myself for a 7 hour flight. Not only did the noise cancelling feature reduce most of the background noises, but it helped to reduce the stress of flying. The sound was great for listening to music on my phone, as well as watching movies on the flight. Would recommend these to anyone who will be on an airplane.

I bought and had to return two pair. Both pair would not play consistently. There were issues with the plug. When I held the plug just right, the sound was fine. But as soon as you let go, either the voice or instruments would fade.

These headphones are amazing in every way. Especially for me as I am on a plane at least once a month. The major problem is a huge design flaw or something. Twice I have had to return these and believe me, I treat them extremely well and don't abuse them.

I bought these headphones about a year and a half ago, and have been very impressed with the comfort and noise cancellation. However, when it comes to durability, things are not quite so rosy. The ear cushions on the QC25s are seemingly designed to deteriorate soon after the (tiny 1 year) warranty is expired. One cushion started tearing around the inside seam, and deteriorated to the point where the entire inside seam had come apart. This on it's own would not be a reason to doubt it's manufacturing quality, but almost as soon as it had finished it's transformation, the other cushion tore in the same place, completely independently. Now, I'm quite aware that I'm not meant to write about customer service here. However, I have not heard back from Bose 20 days after submitting my support request. This is certainly something to be aware of when buying these headphones. I'm sorely disappointed in the durability of these headphones. And to not even get a reply to my support request (besides the "Your message is important to us and we will respond to you within 72 hours" email from no_reply) I intend to purchase replacement ear-cushions from cheaper, higher quality sources.

I am not sure if it is just my headphone or all QC25s. I have used this for 10 days and everytime I switch on Noise Cancelling it stops playing music intermittently and if I switch it off the music plays fine. I got these just for the noise cancelling and it is worthless without it as I could have bought any other cheap wired headphone!

Lows are great, highs are average, mid is really good. I can't believe I said no when they offered me the wireless version, should have taken it. This cable is so annoying and so long, it's frustrating to have your phone wrapped around with wires all the time

These were a late Xmas gift from my Wife purchased in the Bose sale. What a steal. They are truly awesome cups. Having agonized about my next pair of headphones I am so glad wand for the QC's. The sound is amazing with the noise cancelling turned on. It's like moving from SD to HD is only way I can describe. Don't deprive yourself.

Bose noise cancelling allows a critical listening that with other phones cannot provide because of leakage

I waited for almost 3 years before I bought it at a price that I feel reasonable. Noise is not good for our health; I work in an office with a louder central AC, so I always wanted to get these headphones. The noise canceling is fantastic. It block out all the unwanted AC noise. I also get disturbed much less.

I will start by saying that the noise cancelling is stellar and the sound quality is good. Unfortunately, the many reviews about bad connections in the headband are accurate. I have had these for less than a month, and have used them maybe a half dozen times. I have been extremely careful with them and have always placed them in the case. Now there is an intermittent connecton that causes the sound to drop out if I touch the headband. Support was helpful and offered a refund or exchange. But that's not the issue. A product that professes to be high-end should not fail in less than a month. Seriously disappointed.

I am a semi-pro traveler, taking a few flights per year, at least one to Europe. I have long lusted after the Bose for the better part of a decade. I have for years made due with an old Sony, long out of production, which did a decent job. I have tried every set out there, and I found nothing that did as good a job as the Bose, but could not justify parting with the close to $300 that they cost. Even after my wife's Sennheiser broke and purchased a set of Bose for her. But then they went on sale for $, and I couldn't resist. Not only quiet, but comfortable as well. Sound quality is excellent. Only negative: they are larger and heavier than the Sony. On the other hand, it's a safer place to put my eyeglasses when I sleep on intercontinental flights.

Excellent quality, great for air travel, need to take away from spouse, she can't hear anything when she's wearing them especially the Trooper in the rear mirror.

I saw a bunch of one star reviews and I thought that is really insane. Let me start off by saying I fly a lot and these make a huge difference on the plane (including for screaming babies). Anyone saying the ear cups are tearing etc.. well it comes in a case and if you don't put it back in the case or take care of this luxury product that's going to happen! Highly recommend I never travel without these. they are so awesome as is the sound quality.

I bought these a little more than a year ago and have been lightly using it. Now you can see that the cusions are torn and also all worn out. For the price that is charged for these it is disappointing that these fall apart so easily

I bought these 2 years ago for a flight to America. As a nervous flyer, I was hoping for something to help me zone out, and the comfort and noise cancelling did the job perfectly. I never write reviews, but after numerous subsequent flights/trains/journeys, they have become an essential everywhere I travel and I couldn't recommend them enough!

My parents bought me these as a present for my birthday, and I was extremely disappointed when I first put them on. The sound quality is not worth the cost of the headphones and I feel like even when I have it at maximum volume it's just not loud enough. The bass overpowers all other sounds and it takes away from the music alot. I wish I had told my parents sooner though so that we could've gotten different headphones instead.

I bought this 2 months ago and it just rocked my world. I changed mine from QuietComfort 15 to 25. The bass, treble etc. are all maximised to offer the best experience. I would say this is EVEN better sounding than QuietComfort 35. Trust me it is. Yes, there is not bluetooth but that just means you can literally save battery on your phone. Also if the battery runs out you can change it and go back to listen. This really is the best headphone i ever tried.

I have had my pair for just over a year and used them every day. Ran into some difficulties before warranty ended and my local Bose store sorted me out, was pleasantly easy to deal with in store and hasnt sullied my experience. Theyve lasted 5 times longer than any earphones I have had and sound 10 times better.

I bought these to use while I fly on commercial flights. On almost every take off and landing the pop/cut out for a very short time. I returned the first pair because I though they were defective. The second pair is not any better. I have tried different types and manufactures of batteries, that did not help. My wife's QC15s do not do this. I also find they are not very good at canceling out the loud talkers on the airplanes. The sound quality is good and the during level flight the noise canceling works decently.
