Purchase New on Amazon May 18 2020, and upon registration the SN states out of warranty? Are these old speakers sold as new? Online system will not let me enter a repair ticket or give feedback on these speakers. Called Bose and they said nothing to worry about since I just purchase them, but frankly expected newly manufactured components. Speakers age and get brittle with time. Beware of old manufactured speakers being sold as new.

Although I don't own them, 301's were the speaker that started me on the road to audio nirvana 40 years ago. Went to a apartment that belonged to the sister of a friend of mine. We were just hanging out and she turned on some music. The sound i heard coming from those 301's was unlike any i had heard. It was then I knew I had to have that sound and although I still haven't purchased a pair I've put together a couple of nice stereo systems that have satisfied my music fix. I think I'll order a pair just to relive that experience so many years ago. Cheers and enjoy the music, bring back the memories

The size of the speakers are good. Not bad for the price. So far I’m happy and pleased with my purchase.

I love the sound of these bookshelf speakers. Great base, solid units and look just a good. I also purchased the stands and that enhanced the beauty and sound quality because of the reflective variance vs sitting flush against a back wall or bookshelf.

Do not let the price fool you. These speakers are absolutely amazing. They can rock the house with ample bass, precise mids and the front and rear tweeter design generate clear highs. Make sure you set them up properly and if using them as mains, toe them in a bit. For the record, when compared to my 2 other pair of much more expensive speakers the 301's not only hold their own, but in many instances they are my go to speakers. I use banana plugs so changing up my speaker sets is as easy as pie. The 301's have been around for decades for a reason. Enjoy!

I bought the 301 speakers decades ago and they are still working perfectly. My non-Bose receiver which is younger than the speakers is now intermittently cutting out so I now consider replacing the receiver. I was hoping to find a receiver in the Bose product lineup but cannot find any. The speakers stay though and will move with me when we move closer to our children.

I was gifted Bose 301 my son a year back. I play with my Yamaha amp. I am 59 years and love jazz and western instrumental with Indian classical. Its value for money

This past year I relocated my BOSE Acoustimass 10 system from the living room to the new media room and thought some extra sound depth. The customer support crew helped me with some technical questions and spoke highly of the 301 speaker add on. After checking reviews I purchased a pair and installed using BOSE mounting brackets. The performance is thrilling.

For a company that invests 100% of profits back into R&D ya think you would kill a 23 year old product.

Very good sound quality for the money. I inherited a pair of Bose 301s Series II and the new ones I have don't sound as good the Series II but they still sound great!

I was reading so of these reviews bc I though maybe I should replace my older 301’s bc the well maybe they were wearing down as well as my age depicts that I am also. BUT, it occurred to me I’ve had them for forty, yes forty years....bought them while stationed in Korea. They sound great, look well worn a bit but darn what do you expect for that length of time? I complemented them 201’s 30 odd years ago, so pics attached for those doubting the products durability. Think I’ll keep them now.

I ordered a pair of the 301v'. Hooked up to a real quality Yamaha intergrated stereo amplifier. Sending them back. Being a musician all my life, now 50 yrs. old, I know great sound quality. Bose are not great sound quality. They're ok for the listener who enjoys mid volume music , or background music. Good bar room speaker. Anyone looking for great sound quality, look into purchasing Klipsch RP 600's or Elac uni- Fi UB 5's. A bit priceyer, but we'll worth the money!

I bought my 301s way back in 1982 never looked back since then and always advice or recommend any Bose products to people, mine are original wood cabinets with the paddle to direct the sound. I've had them stored for 12 years and found they still perform the same as when new, the brown paper around the main speaker as perished but they are still great ? Have to look into getting this fixed but like I say they still play Excellent, Buy Bose you buy the Best, I also have the sound wave radio/Cd player as usual fantastic sound.

I purchased my Bose 301 speakers in 1987 and they still sound amazing. Over the years I have had them in storage, and only a few years ago pulled them to find that they sound as good as the day I purchased them...32 years ago!!!! Bose have amazing sound quality and I will continue to buy in the future.

I’ve a pair of 301’s I got 19 years ago. I’ll bet the new ones are at least as good, but I’d trade mine for nothing. GREAT sound.

For me, it is all about the sound. Full sound that elevates the music. I do my research and I buy carefully. These speakers are for a living room approximately 12 by 20. I am running them off a Harmon Kardon amp (AVR40) feeding 100 watts of hi-current power to each speaker. My sound sources include my phone via Bluetooth, CD player (yes I still play CDs), Blueray players, and my cable box. At low volumes, these speakers shine. They deliver a full spectrum of sound. At loud volume these speakers rock. To be fair, the bass is very good but could be enhanced with a subwoofer (as with all bookshelf speakers). But I don't feel a need to carry up my polk sub sitting in the basement because these sound so good without it (and my wife get's on us when the bass moves furniture around the floors upstairs...). Excellent sound for a very nice looking speaker. I put mine on the Bose stands and they really look great! The stands also enhance the reflective portion of the speakers on the back giving them room to operate. The sound reaching my ears is simply amazing. Love, love, love these speakers!

Delivered yesterday for use as wall mount speakers. After spending some time studying the picture manual for the wall mount brackets because I had some fears of drilling holes in my new speakers. I was replacing 25 year old KLH speakers. Well these are phenomenal A++++++ I am soooo very happy with these speakers and would recommend to anyone.

I bought a set of 301’s in the early 90’s. Not what happened but a sub quit working. I can’t see any physical damage to the speaker and the connections appear to be intact. Nonetheless the speaker won’t play. Looking for a replacement speaker.

Back in the late 1980's/early 1990's I purchased the first generation of these. After buying a new amplifier as the first Pioneer one died, they are still 100% perfect and best quality! Anyone thinking of buying them will never be disappointed!

I have realy enjoyed listening to my records through these speakers for the last ten years . I am nintyone years old and I have gone through I should think ten pairs of speakers over the years even making my own cabinets and none have surpassed the Bose 301's. My amp. is a Arcam Delta 90 and the rest of my setup is as follows.... Thorens TD 521, A T OC9 cartridge and A T arm Nakamichi Dragon tape dech, an old panasonic CD player and my old friend of of 38 years the Revox B77 mark 2 reel to reel and a Revox B261 tuner.

I bought my 301 series II speakers in '91. They've been paired with a Sony 100w/ch receiver of the era ever since. I've lived in a few different place over time and as long as I've played with the placement some the sound they put out is outstanding. After all these years they're showing their age but the sound is still killer!

Bought it a week back..the moment I played it, i stood spellbound. No wonder this product has excellent reviews. I’ve never come across such amazing sound experience. It’s creates an altogether new place for you. I’m using it with Marantz PM 6006. It’s phenomenal. Totally worth the price. I shall post a further review after enriching my experience with this adorable possession.

I bought these and they are a great sound. but I have a problem because I would like set up on the wall with the WB-3 wall brackets but I don't like the idea for drill because this can affect the sound, the instruction of WB-3 wall bracket are very poor, they mention where I can drill but not mention nothing about the depth.

I have just taken delivery of a pair of 301 V speakers and am very impressed. I had mixed feelings about it and am somewhat perplexed of some mixed reviews seen on various websites. I think it may be that they are in my views for people who understand what Hi Fidelity (so called Hi Fi) means, and unless one plays "naturally" produced and recorded sounds, the potential of those speakers is not revealed. Because of their design the placement of those speakers is critical and I followed the guidelines strictly and effortlessly. Listening to an Elgar Cello concerto brought tears to my eyes; the same when watching a film titled "The Quarter" . Mind you, with a film like "Lord of the Rings", and with the addition of a subwoofer which I have, they can certainly deliver a punch !

Great highs and mids, wonderful balance
By wortletheturtle
Happy owner of 301's for over four years now. Replaced a set of 201's series II with these.. They really do have a great balance of sound, I paired mine with a 100w subwoofer for a little kick. The 301's paired with a good sub, sound better than my floorstanding 45lb Acoustic Research 8 Speakers, and can hold a match to my fathers 901's. I still want 901's... but you will not be disappointed with these speakers at all. Great product, and in my opinion the best Bose stereo speaker.
Awesome speakers!

I recently bought these to replace a pair of 13 year old bookshelf speakers that came with my home theater system. I've always been amazed at other Bose products that I have known other people to have. These continue to blow me away. I'm using them without a sub, and they really rock. The lows, mids, and highs are all very impressive. I especially love the spacious sound field. You cannot go wrong with these.
The Bose 301 Series V Direct/Reflecting Speakers are designed to work with a variety of stereo receivers and amplifiers as either front or rear channel speakers. The open, spacious performance of these speakers makes them an ideal choice for home theater, or for listening to CD's, tapes, or radio broadcasts.
