Bose SoundTouch 520 Home Theater System

I bought this 5 days ago from bestbuy and I am so much disappointed with surround sound. Rear speakers worked while doing adaptiq setup but after that I didn't feel them. Whatever 5.1 test sounds from YouTube I am playing the sound is coming from front speakers all the time.Same problem with movies from Netflix or some Other source. It is like 2.1 system not a 5.1 surround sound.

I have purchased this Cinemate (SoundTouch) 520 system in Feb 2015 and since then my living room has turned to a mini home theatre. great sound quality and amazing bass effect.

I bought this 3 weeks ago after 6 months long of undecisiveness and I am glad that I went ahead to get one. First of all, the packaging of the system was just neat and no wasting of unnecceary spaces and materials. Setup was easy and the instrutions are clear and simple to follow. The sound is perfectly clear and the bass is powerful when listening to music and watching movies. Although the price is very expensive (hence 4 stars) but it is worth the money.

i love bose.....all bose products... i like the sound and the quality of the products... because you don't only pay for the sound.... you pay for sound, the material and looks.... and bose is the best in this 3 ....

This is the first time I have reviewed any product of any kind. I have owned a couple Bose home theater systems in the past with excellent results. I needed to write this review to let others know what a huge disappointment this system is before you spend your money on this product. I bought this system in December 2015 after buying a 4K ready tv, the Bose SoundTouch® 520 home theater system is the only home theater system with 4K pass though capability. The system worked great for a few months then it started having intermittent loss of sound while playing music using the Bluetooth feature. I lived with this annoyance and I blamed line of sight interference or some other unseen interference on poor system performance since the rest of the features worked well. Then after a few weeks of the poor Bluetooth performance; the system could not find the Acoustimass module. Referring to the internet and the troubleshooting manual, I unplugged and re-paired the Acoustimass module. That solution worked for about a week. After a week of doing the re-pairing, nothing I tried including moving the router to the other side of the house, resetting the system to factory defaults, running the ADAPTiQ, hard wiring the console to the Acoustimass and finally having Bose send me a new Acoustimass and new console did I decide to inform the public, via this review, that I have concluded that this system is junk. I am currently without a working Bose surround system despite having two (2) system consoles and two (2) Acoustimass modules. Bose please pull this product until you have fixed all the bugs.

Great wireless bass excellent sound, great performance, the onda comment to improve is the control, i need switch every time between buttons to turn on the tv & turn on the sat.

I bought this system to replace a samsung system i had. I must say this is in a league of its own. i thought i had a surround sound system, until i got one of these. The sound is quality even at high volume its crisp an clear, very easy to set up. If you are thinking of buying anything but a bose, dont waste your money!

This unit is clear and nice there are a few things I would do to make it better and a 5 star. 1. Add a High/Low volume on the Acousttimass unit. Like a Day-Night button.( Bass at low volumes overpower the seakers) 2. Make the Acoustimass a bit larger for more Boom The rest of the unit is what I wanted and expected from Bose. Simply put great sound . For the size it is amazing. I know Bose will excel in future units. The Soundtouch feature I like . I was leery of the unit at first but as time goes and the more I play it the more I am glad I made this choice. Thanks Bose for making BIG sound from small speakers with clearity

I moved to a home that didn't have enough room for my very large and powerful B&W speaker system. I've used Bose's headphones and iPod speakers in the past and decided to give the 520 system a try. Could it really sound as good as it did at the store demo? Heck yes! It sounded great out of the box, but after running AdaptIQ to customize the sound for my room, it really came alive. Movies sound significantly better than the much-more-costly B&W speaker system. The sound quality of music is much closer, however. Turning up the bass helped give the 520 system more punch, but it's a little tough to compete with the massive 12", 600 watt sub it replaced. That said, I am finding after 2-1/2 months of daily listening that the Bose bass module puts out plenty of clean tight bass. If you really need to rumble the walls of your house, you may have to look elsewhere. But if you want super high quality sound with superior detail and clarity, you just can't go wrong with Bose. Setup is incredibly easy and directions are clear. The SoundTouch app is really neat, but I wish Bose would again include AirPlay to better support Apple Music. I can listen by easily connecting via Bluetooth, but trying to use multiple SoindTouch products simultaneously doesn't work. Othwise the app is great. Highly recommended, enough so that I bought a 520 system for my parents. They love it too!

Was a bit apriencive given the high cost but I needn't be as this system is worth every penny. The sound is better than any other sound bar I have heard and looks great in my living room. The acoustimass module is nice and small so it could be neatly tucked behind the chair. The sound even at high volume is clear, crisp and very easy on the ear. Watching films is a massive improvement over my tv speakers and existing sound bar it blows you away. The biggest benefit is that dialogue is clear and so you don't find yourself turning the volume up and down all the time. Music via Bluetooth is fantastic and sounds great especially when listening to il divo. The remote controls all of my devices so I have been able to put my other 3 remotes away making life a lot simpler. If you are contemplating buying this system and are unsure because of the price then trust me you will not be disappointed and will think it's worth every penny.

Anybody that wants to have the most up-to-date home theatre will have a 4K tv and run HDMI, however, to run 4K capability from newer UHD sources, you must have HDMI 2.0 AND HDCP 2.2, Bose does not have the HDCP 2.2 hardware version and will require you to purchase a new receiver!!! I just bought this!!!!

HI there , i bought this on October 2015, everything is fine till , i upgrade the new software few weeks back, after this i am facing problem from "acoustimass module" As it is wifi module, now it breaks in between every 5-8 minutes for 10 sec to 13 sec , then comes back alive , very irritating while listening the output, so guys please please do not update the software

Got this as a gift, was happy about it, 1st Bose system that I have ever had. The sound is great but lacking bass. This replaced my old system from Walmart which had more bass than this. For the price I would have expected more from Bose. I even turned the bass all the way up and turned down everything else. I looked online to find out whats going on and the website says to put next to wall or in a corner. I am sorry but for this price I should not have to do this. Overall I am happy with my new system.

I bought this a week ago, and I love it. I feel enriched in the sound of these speakers, and feel that this is perfectly suited to my room. The subwoofer is expectional and he app is quite user friendly. This is truly worth the investment. I only wish it could have more features such as movie mode, game mode, etc.

Picked up this past Monday from the Bose Store at Natick Collections. First up, about the people in the store. Jackie, Brendon - you guys are wonderful, and thanks for the patience in answering all my questions, and showing those demos. Now about the product, it's my dream come true. Have been saving up for quite some time now to buy this, and it's all worth it. I haven't found any negatives as yet, and will update the review if I find any. So far so good. It's a different music listening and movie watching experience with the SoundTouch 520.

I picked up my SoundTouch 520 last week and wish I would have done it earlier. Right out of the box the sound was awesome. The setup was totally easy to do and with the floor stands and ceiling mount brackets (sold separately) only took about 30 minutes. If you ever wanted to upgrade your sound this is the way to go. make the investment and just do it, my only thing is I wish I would have done it sooner. The sound is crystal clear and the bass hits hard. Watched the Dark Knight, and it felt like I was in the movie. I also synced my phone to the console my music never sounded so good. The ease of use and the quality of sound makes me one happy customer.

Just picked this up Bose® SoundTouch® 520 home cinema system and I must admit I Love It...!!! The new Bluetooth intergration with the Soundtouch brings convenience of operating my system with a touch on my smart devices. Settup was very easy...From movie watching to music listening, this is literally the best system I have owned. Looking forward to wonderful sound experiences.
