Shopper : Will this lens work with D5300?LARRY H : yes this is an f mount DX lens so it will work without any distortion on a Nikon d5300KENNETH D : Yes it will. It will work with any Nikon camera with their standard bayonet mount. All focusing and aperture settings will need to be done manually. I used it on a cruise on a D5100 and it takes spectacular pictures. I used it with the simple Gossen Digsix 2 light meter mounted to the hot shoe https://<a href="http://www.adorama.com/l/Cameras/Camera-Accessories/Gossen~Light-Meters." target="_blank">www.adorama.com/l/Cameras/Camera-Accessories/Gossen~Light-Meters.</a> Exposue setting was simple, easy and fast.
Shopper : will this lens work on a Nikon d800 ?ANDREW R : Yes, however it will need to be used in DX-crop mode. This lens does not cover a full frame (FX) sensor.
DAVID L : nikon d80 and metering ? Does it autometer for exposure ?ABBA R : No - All the electronic functions are disabled but the exposure meter works for manual setting of shutter speed and aperture

got this to film skating and man does it look good, everything is in frame and manual focus is super easy and smooth, would definitely recommend

Great on Recent Cruise

I had a blast spending most of half day roaming around the Liberty of the Seas Royal Caribbean cruise ship taking snaps with my D5100. I got pix that could not have been taken of the ship with any other lens. Most of my shots were from f/5.6-f/11 and the depth of field and sharpness were incredible. I had added a manual light meter to the hot shoe which made it simple to get the correct exposure since this lens is manual in every way. Highly recommended.

Fun Lens

Fun lens. Compact and light but feels sturdy. Sharp, particulalry when stopped down a little. 180o fiels of view makes for some interesting results. The "A" setting on my Pentax variant makes it easy to use. Interacts perfectly with my K5-II.
