About BlackRapid Metro

The BlackRapid Metro Sling Camera Strap (Black) is a small, compact and lightweight way to carry around your Micro 4/3, mirrorless or compact camera. The 63" strap has been designed for lighter photographic use than other BlackRapid straps but remains as rough and ready as any of their other R-Straps such as the Sport, Curve (RS-7) or Cargo (RS-5).

The ballistic nylon top side of the strap is complemented by a foam pad made with knitted mesh. The Metro makes use of BlackRapid's well-known, respected, durable and fast using FastenR (FR-3) and ConnectR (CR-2). In addition, the smaller size of the strap makes it easier to store while traveling.

FastenR (R-3) is made from solid stock 304 stainless steel with a high-grade rubber compression washer and has an integrated D-ring. ConnectR CR-2 has a smooth swivel with a positive lock to ensure the safety of the camera or lens.

I had purchased this for my Fuji X-E1. It is the right size and weight and meets the purpose. It is well made. But I would have liked the following features too 1. VERY GOOD STRAP

This strap does exactly what it's suppose to do. It holds my Canon camera quite will. Does take a small while to get use to, but after a short time it becomes second nature.

Strap for Fuji XE-1

By

from Woodbridge, CT  -  Photo Enthusiast

i bought this strap for my Fuji XE-1. It works well with the camera. I was worried that the strap might not stay put on my shoulder when I lifted the camera, but it does. This is a much better way of carrying a camera than around your neck. The black rapid strap is high quality and well packaged. I am left handed so I wear the strap over my right shoulder. There are no issues with this, the strap is not made for one side of your body like some of the other models. This one does not have any pockets for extra cards or batteries, it's just the strap and swivel hook. The hook screws into the tripod mount. The one bad thing is that the swivel blocks access to the battery and SD card door, but this is really the fault of the camera. The tripod mount is too close to the battery door.

It just works.

I shot a music event all day and had my 5D with a 70-200 f2.8L slung with this strap and I had no fatigue - yet camera was easy to get to at all times. I have used other slings that were not at comfortable. I went with this over the sport version since I intend to travel with it and so far it has been exactly what I want for a system to hold a heavy rig both comfortably and out of the way. I have nothing bad to say - though I recommend the swivel cover to prevent scratching the bottom of the camera.

camera strap

Strap seems to be all it claims to be but I am still a little uncertain about the connection on the bottom. If I check and tighten it when I use it , it should hold.onco

Camera Strap

By

from Hanover, PA  -  Photo Enthusiast

I carry a Canon 60d, 300mm F/4 IS lens, and a 1.4x converter and I get adequate support from this strap. It is not intended for this much weight, but it still does the job. I carry binoculars that hang in the center of my chest that work well with this strap holding my camera at my side. Now if I can find a strap to hold an iPad and make that accessible in the field.

Just Right for carrying my Fuji X-E2

By

from Ashburn, VA  -  Photo Enthusiast

This strap is just the right weight for carrying a mirror less camera. It's lighter than the one I use for my DSLR but solid enough for piece of mind when carrying the Fuji.

Surprisingly Compact

By

from KL  -  Photo Enthusiast

Nice padding, I like the way it sits on the shoulders. Joby Ultrasling doesn't have any padding but seems to take more space in the bag. This is more comfortable and the metal fittings are solid and doesn't get in the way like the plastic connector on the Joby when you hold it up against your face. Joby digs into the shoulders then rides up on the neck after some walking around, irritates me. You also have to use the lock on Joby or the cam will slide down your thigh when you walk.
