Questions & Answers

Shopper : I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?MR. F : Er... You can still buy the IC 3 batteries and charger at Computer City.MR. F : Originally, because the mA output was sufficient for me to use in a digital camera. I continue to buy them: 1) The first batteries I bought about 8 years ago are still accepting a charge. Maybe 1 or 2 have kacked out on me. But most are still good. 2) Because I CAN STILL buy them. The others that have started using them apparently have as high an opinion of them as do I. 3) The economics of using them is just phenomenal. The price of them has decreased significantly over time. Hope this helpsDANIEL W : I needed some AAA batteries for our TV rermote. I thought that the fast charging batteries would be best for me because I don't get much warning when the remote needs new batteries. I already had a charger (not RayOvac) but I thought these batteries would charge a little faster than other batteries. They did but when I left them on trickel charge they died. I orderded two sets so the one set I have, and am still using, come out of the charger as soon as they're ready. If you buy these batteries, buy the charger that gose with them.C G : It was inexpensive and it can be charged very quickly with the proper charger.SETH C : They were very cheap.TEAYNA E : I bought theses batteries because of the really good price . I use them in a cordless phone and have been very satisfied with them. They charge quickly in the phone and last quite a while when the phone is off the cradle.. You can't beat the price/value ratio.DAVE W : price and recharge capability-you do not need a 15 minute charger to use these-a standard charger works too. I am happy with this purchaseMR. F : This Rayovac AAA rechargeable 800mAh & its counterpart AA 2000 & 2300 mAh. are NiMh batteries 15 min. rechargeables ONLY WITH A Rayovac IC3 15 min Charger models: PS5 - 2 slots - & PS6 -4 slots-. You can charge either AA or AAA indistinctively & simultaneously. Such Chargers as well as the batteries are OFFICIALLY DISCONTINUED by RAYOVAC since aprox. 2006. There might be some still available "outhere ". As recent, as Nov. 2011 they were offered in the range of $$ -PS5 Charger- to $$$-PS6 Charger- ; both Brand New. Used Chargers are cheaper. The PS5 Charger has 2 prongs to connect to an 120 Volt outlet - convinient for travel-.The PS6 has VERY HEAVY BRICK -Black Color- to do the connection occupying both twice the space & weight. It also can be connected to a car lighter via a 12 DC adapter. I have both chargers. Eventhough our beloved Adorama offers the AAA batteries at a good price, 1 set of 2 for S $, they don't offer niether the chargers NOR the AA battery.Expec to pay at least $$ for a set of 4 AA batteries, which is twice the price of new NiMh low charge/pre charged rechargeable batteries. Although TRULY rechargeables in 15 mins. & supposedly good for 500-1000 recharges - yet to confirm - .I don't regret buying the chargers & battery for my frequent uses: gadgets remotes, hair trimmers. However, for other NON frequent uses keep in mind these are NOT: Low discharge/Pre charged rechargeable batteries which take 4 hrs. to charge * and if UNUSED will last up to a year charged. That's about the major con.A minor con one is that since this is a former generation technology, you can find nowadays higher Amhs, around 1000 mAH for AAA's & 2600 for AA's both NiMh low discharge/pre charged rechargeables. * Check reviews on both the Duracell & Energizer chargers types that claim to be15 mins. I hope this helps towards making the right decision. I'd like to thank Adorama for contacting me.RONALD W : These were replacements for my original set(s) that were worn out. At the time that I bought the replacements, Rayovac had discontinued making the 15 minute rechargables, and I did not want to throw away my existing Rayovac 15 minute charger. Adorama was one of the few places that still sold the the Rayovac 15 minute rechargables. There are other brands that make15 minute chargers and 15 minute batteries (Duracell and Everyready).. I'm satisfied with my Rayovac setup, and I will continue with it as long as I can find the batteries.JOSEPH D : I have been using Rayovac 15 minute rechargable IC3 batteries the last 5 years and they have been fantastic. To charge these batteries in 15 minutes you NEED TO USE the Rayovac 15 minute charger. I have this charger and therefore bought these batteries. You can charge these batteries in a regular charger but the charge time will then be 7 to 8 hrs or even longer. I have two sets of these batteries that are 5 years old and are still going strong!KRISHNA G : I have used this product earlier and it worked well for meMARTHA B : I picked these batteries because I already own the Rayovac charger required to charge them in 15 minutes. I understand Rayovac has (annoyingly) discontinued this line so they are not readily available anymore.THOMAS W : It was a good price and short charging time. I am prett happy with them.

Just as expected

I've owned this type of battery before, and I have the 15 minute charger. They really do charge in 15 minutes or less, and give the power output expected of an NiMH battery. However, several days after charging you will need to charge them again regardless of usage. They do not hold their charge over extended periods of non-use. I knew about this before purchasing, so no big deal. You just throw them in the charger 15 minutes before you head out the door, and you are all set.

Rayovac Wins the Day

I use two triple AAA batteries in a Microsoft keyboard. The two batteries supplied with the keyboard (coppertop) failed within months of purchase. One needs reliable power.

15 Minute batteries without the charger

The biggest selling point of this item is its 15 minute charging capability. We went to [...], among all the fast and slow chargers, there was not one quicker than 2 hours. So, what's the use of buying 15 min batteries, if there is no 15 min charger available?

Quick recharge and good!

If you are a photographer or use a lot of batteries, rechargeable batteries are the way to go! These recharge quickly, and have a good number of recharges.

The Rayovac's patent-pending I-C3 technology (In-Cell Charge Control) puts the control of the recharging into the battery, instead of the charger. This breakthrough in NiMH technology offers significant performance and convenience over existing rechargeable and disposable battery systems.
